Status update on the update 0.225

Hey guys,

as things stand, the update right now already weighs in at 940 renders, and it is now almost certain that it will break the 1000 render mark. In terms of animations, 40-50 shorter ones are now planned, but I can't say yet how many will make it into the final update version. The reason for this is the file size, as video files are significantly larger than normal image files and we haven't yet found a perfect solution for dealing with this so that you don't end up having to download 20 GB at the end of Part II.

As far as the development of the scenes is concerned, I am already at the very end of the final fifth part of the update, and it is quite possible that by the end of next week, scene creation will finally be complete and I will start editing the renders. The animations will continue to be created in parallel.

The fuck you mean? It is 2025 people have unlimited Free Internet and storage space.Give them the best quality 20gb,30gb whatever,If someone has space constraints they will download compressed versions,Bob and others will take care of that issue

20 gigs is not a problem I really want to believe that it will not filter out more than half. More than half are already disappointed 75% of which do not believe that a new update will be released in 4 months one update! How much in 8 years and we have not even advanced one iota to full-fledged sex.

Given that update 220 was only 2.7 GB, adding 17.3 GB for an update that covers only 1/8 of a day is MOST DEFINITELY a problem. If L&P keeps increasing the game size by 17 GB on each update, the game will grow to 100 GB at some point in the future.

1000 renders, huh.... Hope the "bonus museum event " right after this doesn't make them visit all of it. We're in for a +3000 renders trip otherwise.

If he still does the museum event (there was a poll about it, and most people said they wanted it) that means this entire year will be effectively spent on 1 event. Or at least 1 timeslot. This Dylan update, which is due in August/September. + the museum, which is in the same timeslot as Dylan but for people who aren't on the route, will probably take until December or even 2026 to be out.

I don't think these AI animations are making him any faster either. Making 5-10 Blender animations is likely quicker than 50 AI ones, like he said he's doing for this event. That's an animation ever 20 or so renders.

One thing is always true: LP is fantastically bad at controlling or estimating scope.

This update was meant to be, like, 500 renders tops when it started. And now it's 1000+ renders and 50 animations and close to 60 pages of script.

The museum date, knowing what I said above, will likely end up being a multi-stage event too. Like this Dylan one is.

They'll (Sophia and Pat) will meat up with the guys somewhere, go to the museum, and then go somewhere else for the "main event" etc.
