I do find it curious that in order to get the shower part of the Yoga event, Sophia needs to skip the soccer match, so he loses the game.

"Coach Sophia" was probably an attempt to add more of this part of his character to the game. But then we've never seen Ellie cheerleading, or even her school.
Or that dance class! Now there’s a shower scene I’d gladly wait an extra two weeks to see.

Patricia's points depends on:
day2: 1pts
day3: 3pts
day12: 3pts
day16: 5pts
day18: 8pts only yoga before shower

total: 20 points

So, if you do ( shower gym day3 + running park day12 + yoga day18=15points )

The most important thing about any project is that it is feasible. Anyone who truly believes L&P will work on this game for additional 10+ years is much too optimistic. However, if you look at the trend of progress in game days per year and take into account that L&P now needs half a year for just a 1/3 game day, it quickly becomes obvious that it would still take decades to finish the game at his current speed.

If you want to stick with all the routes, you will probably never see the end of this project, simply because it will be abandoned at some point.
Oh come on, whoever thinks this game won't go unfinished, in one way or another, also believes in Santa Claus.
I think that the game is even more likely to be canceled by the developer out of frustration because he doesn't get the recognition he thinks he deserves. And because he can no longer hear it from people who steal from him, also told how he can do his work better.
But that is not the point. The point is love this game. I like to play it because it tells stories that branch out and whose outcome cannot (yet) be guessed. And there are branches that I like and that I don't really like to follow. This enables me to deal with them. This is what sets the game apart from its excellent graphics. In my opinion! If many of these paths fall away, the game becomes more straightforward in its history, it becomes a porn game like many others that are listed on f95zone.

Sophia, her visage and her personality and her circumstance and how all that is portrayed is what makes this game great.

I can’t agree that the game is lesser with fewer branches, because interest and admiration from many came very early, before the branching started.

I was hooked with the 2v1 basketball game in the driveway, which was one of the most erotic teasers of potential I’d ever seen in this genre.

Even if told more linearly, with just two or three major branches and a couple of optional scenes in each along the way, would be epic enough for most and still great.

The fact that every little option seems to create a new branch is what’s making this spiral out of control.

The doom and gloom and negativity really didn’t come into the thread until it became clear the development time for each version of each event was growing, and the number of variants required for each version of an event would soon reach exponential growth.

Incorrect. Only 2 points are available on day 18 during the yoga event, so the maximum available Patricia points is 14, not 20. One point for Sophia leaving her hand on Patricia's boob, and another for agreeing to shower with the other women.

Also, day3 + day 12 + day18 = 3 + 3 + 8 = 14 points, not 15, so even that math is wrong.

You didn't say you were adding the day 2 points, so I didn't either. But that's irrelevant, since you can only get 2 points on day 18, not 8 as you're claiming. So without cheating, it's still impossible to get the shower with Patricia and have Dylan win the soccer match.

Which I'm finding a curious storywise decision by L&P

What advantage does it have for history to have dylan win the football match?

Isn't winning the game only tied to how Sophia reacts to the stolen kiss (and Dylan's points)? It is controlled by day15_Dylan_scores_goal (supposing that Sophia is not staying for the match)
Python:
    menu day15_Sophia_decides_how_to_react_on_Dylans_insidious_kiss:
        "{b}{color=#000000}Hold it against him (React furiously!)":
                        $ day15_Dylan_scores_goals = False
                        jump day15_Sophia_DOESNT_react_cool_on_Dylans_insidious_kiss
        "{b}{color=#000000}Let it go {size=-4}{color=#2bb8ff}((Dylan min. 20!) (Dylan +1))":
                        if dylan >= 20:
                            $ dylan += 1
                            $ day15_Dylan_scores_goals = True
                            jump day15_Sophia_reacts_cool_on_Dylans_insidious_kiss
                        else:
                            $ day15_Dylan_scores_goals = False
                            "{b}{color=#ffffff}Sophia's relationship with Dylan isn't high enough!"
                            jump day15_Sophia_DOESNT_react_cool_on_Dylans_insidious_kiss
and later on when she comes back from the sauna:
Python:
if day15_Dylan_scores_goals:
    al "There you are! Damn, you really missed something today, girl!"
    al "Your son and his hat-trick really saved our butts!"
    s "Oh, wow, really?"
    al "Yeah, he was amazing!"
    s "Damn, I'd have loved to have seen that!"
    if dylan >= 21:
        s "{color=#f2ff66}(Well, I guess that means Dylan got over his little disappointment from earlier pretty well, at least!)"
    else:
        pass
    al "Well, Mr. Mills recorded the match, so you'll be able to watch it online anytime."
    s "Oh, that's great!"
else:
    al "There you are!"
    s "Dang it, I thought I'd at least still make it before the end of the game!"
    al "Nevermind! You didn't miss much."
    s "Oh... we lost?"
    al "Yep."
    s "Shoot!"
    al "Well, the season isn't decided yet, and we can still win the championship!"
    s "I hope so!"

I mean, yes in order for the shower to happen during the yoga event she has to skip the match, but he is not necessarily losing it, it depends on the reaction to the kiss.

Huh. I've never got the conversation with Alyssa if he wins, so I always assumed he lost. Had to load my save into saveeditonline to actually see that day15_Dylan_scores_goals was flagged as true. I would have thought that him winning his first game would have been a bigger deal.

We missed out on
Julia's concert.
Ellie's being prom queen.
Ellie becoming cheerleader captain, she is also a sports ace but we never see anything.
Also only hinted at that Sophia experimented back in the day but I think that has more to do with using dildo's
