He said something along those lines after his first disappearance in the earlier stages of working on the new update. I think that was when the "Art edited with PS" bar went up by 15%, and L&P saying he wasn't home for like 2(?) weeks, only able to work on his laptop. Tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't the progress bar pretty much frozen again for the past ~3 weeks apart from the huge 5% leap in created scenes this weekend?

I don't see the update being released this year. He'll most likely take another break around christmas. Must be really nerve wrecking to work a couple hours on the game every week. When I said that I'd expect the update to be released in ~February 2022 a while ago, it was more of a joke. But it looks like L&P is the only one laughing now.

See, even if she warned Sophia about roaming the streets doesn't mean that Sophia should lock herself up in the house or go out only with 5 people guarding her. There were people out at night. The bus station did, only the subway was empty, hence clearly something normal. She was carrying her pepper spray, she could have had the gun but that was too much for her.

All of those options require work, extra renders firstly, more work on coding and all of them inconsequential because the crux is Sophia gets home safe without any trouble with ruffians or she has trouble. The one option where she did not have trouble is her own vehicle, now even if he had adds 20 more options to take Sophia home safely doesn't do anything for the story except waste time and this what we all will then nag at him about saying this wasn't needed.

If by any chance he did that it would also be setting a standard, people will expect similar multiple choices in other events too. Which not only makes the game development a lot more complex but extremely slow as well. Your point of it being his choice will always remain because even if there are 10 options they are all his choice of giving to you. If you still want a 11th you can't have it.

I don't remember him giving clothing choices in the game for Sophia expect for Aiden's 2nd task where she has two outfits based on the storyline. But is that a choice when the other dress basically means no scene, just 5 renders and you're done with that dress. Also the patron poll is not of discussion here. The dress seems unrealistic to wear to such a place to most, we were talking about what is realistic or not, not about how to award patrons.

As for issues, I have many many issues if I get down to it but everyone already criticizes him so much I don't want to do that to him anymore.

With honesty this game is already far from what a real world approach for an educated conservative married woman would be. I just tell myself that in the context of the game it is not ludicrous as most games are. For some scenes I just assume that maybe somewhere someplace someone might actually take that approach.

Humans are unpredictable afterall. Any act I can imagine must have already been done by someone somewhere in this world. On a grand scale of things if even one person in this world has done something then it's no longer unrealistic. Plus realism is way too subjective.

Something that I might consider unrealistic or unbelievable might have been a reality someone has lived. Just because I can't believe it doesn't mean that some other person has not experienced it.

As long as L&P in this story can convincingly write the situation I'll accept it. Example - the Julia scene from a real world perspective is unthinkable. A girl confused about her sexual feelings is provided comfort by an educated teacher and mother in such a manner by allowing sensual sensory play Infront of her daughter, but all in all the interaction at no point was ridiculous, he was able to somehow justify the scene and that's all I care for.

The only almost realistic story in AWAM is the relationship between Sophia and Dylan. L&P always refers to the mother/son relationship, which makes it difficult for Sophia to open up to him in a sexual way. This takes time.
All the other stories are clearly unrealistic. At least in such a short time, it's unlikely that a woman/mother would change her personality, her behavior, eg to masturbate with her daughter, to let Aiden push her into these 12 tasks, to see Sam as more than just a flirt, to suddenly become a lesbian, 1st/2nd side-job, etc.
Maybe there is a woman somewhere in the world who would do that within 30 days... but as Sophia is described at the beginning of the game, she is not one of them.

No one is happy with the Apostles. Some of the people here don't mind the content, but I think everyone agrees that the pace of progress was insane. My feelings are well established on this scene.

The point is, the only way L&P could maintain realism while increasing the pace, would be to totally restructure the game. Instead of a day-by-day progression, he would need to shift to an event based release that jumped days and filled in the gaps with montages. So v0.150 would be something like an event on Monday, and event on Thursday, then an event on Saturday (just picking days), all of which would have sexy content. L&P would then have to explain that on Wednesday some boring, but important, exposition took place that set up the sex event on Thursday.

The thing is, this isn't a great idea either because it would still feel forced. But I don't know any other way to include the necessary sexy content the game needs, with the increased pace that he has to deliver. We can't have exposition forever and he knows it. Honestly, I wouldn't want to be in L&P's shoes right now. I think he has a really difficult balancing act.

Most other adult games might make you wait awhile to have sex with the main character in the game but there should have already of been sex scenes with Dylan and some girl, Sam, Elle and guy/girl, Zac and Allysa, Patricia and someone Aiden and his girl or some rando. And that's an added difficulty with telling a game from (mostly) the 1st person perspective. Since we follow Sophia almost exclusively, we can't really get insights into what the other characters are doing when she's not around them. In this particular case Dylan and Ellie are not having sex so we're not missing much, but in general a third-person perspective allows for more flexibility. Like you said, if one character's story needs to move slowly you have the ability to flip over to another character's perspective. Maybe we could have flipped over to see some action between Patricia and Carl. Instead we're stuck in the first person perspective with Sophia and the game's pacing is impacted by it.

This isn't a criticism of L&P, just something I've noticed that I would keep in mind if I was making my own game.

As we discussed earlier, it probably would be pretty difficult to use time jumps because of how he constructed the story. There are so many moving pieces with characters and stories, that he would have needed to construct the game from the beginning with time jumps in mind. Since he didn't do that, as Dr.Fapalot said, he would have needed to restructure the entire story to account for a unplanned for time jump, and that would be a nightmare. That's probably the reason he canceled the second time jump. He probably reached a point where he knew he needed a second one, but since it wasn't planned for from the beginning it was impossible to implement it.

Basically we're stuck with this format.

Exactly, that's how it is, even with Dylan he has to push the barrier of realism in my opinion and as things progress there is no storyline which will be realistic.
