I agree with you but the massive hype concerning this update,Dylan/Aiden event,put out by the dev has seen his number go up.
Call it good marketing or something else but I do think that he is playing a dangerous game here.

What´s going to happen, dog? I think he won´t lose patrons. No rather he will raise his supporters. Around the day of release, he will gain up to 70+ more new supporters. And many of them will like the update. I´m sure of that. So I think he will regularly have around 1500 supporters.

Right now, IMO his Artwork has been keeping him afloat, so I have a hard time saying it's good marketing considering all the posts about faster updates, finding help, etc... So the massive hype for this update could be a make or break for him. I hope for a changing point for Sophia with the male cast since some are really behind the eight ball and others are just peeking through the cracks right now, and we are almost at the halfway point in this novel. There has been very little progress except for Liam, but that should be obvious.

Only time will tell and I do think that you are right that his patrons will rise probably higher than 1600/1700 since he is at 1512 just now

If you look at his Patreon Membership count history. He's more in a stagnant growth right now. Most of the members he gets each month is offset going into the next month. The pattern is usually he gets around 200-300 members, then at the beginning of the next month, he loses about the same amount, and that's pretty much been the cycle so far.

I agree with you and say the same thing, if the event is completely cold, there will be a whole avalanche of dissatisfied people.
If updates came out more often, then this would not be a problem, since we know that at the end of the next day we will have a hot heterosexual event. But the problem is that it will be the end of the 22nd year, not earlier.

This update does feel like an inflection point. If it's good, AND L&P is somehow able to follow up with the next update within the next four months, he could see an explosion in patrons. But we all know that there's no chance for the next update to be released quickly; so what does that mean?
If this update is universally accepted as good, but it's the only update this year, I think he'll hold steady for the most part but he won't see much long-term growth. A surge in June and July that tappers off in August and flatlines through the Fall, that's how I envision it. Any potential decline in patrons won't occur unless the next update slips to February 2022.
If this update is disappointing, then all bets are off. If the discussion around this update is centered around its perceived shortcomings, and the next update is nowhere on the horizon, then I think he may see actual declines in patrons beginning in August. He would still get a short-term bump in June and July, but if word of mouth is bad and as August gives way to September without a new release, I think there may be some disgruntled patrons. Normally I think he could ride-out any bumps in the road, but with this update being so large, taking so long to develop, and being so hyped, I think there's a lot riding on it. And it isn't helped by the fact that the next update isn't expected any time soon, so v0.130 has to stick the landing.
If this update is disappointing, and yet his patron numbers continue to steadily creep upward, then he'll be pretty much bulletproof.

I understand your point, however it is worth stressing that even if we get a second update this year...THAT'S ONLY TWO UPDATES IN 2021. We can't fall into the trap of setting expectations so low that if L&P does get a second update out this year it's seen as a relief. Two updates in one year is fucking atrocious, even if the alternative was one update. L&P should be delivering, AT MINIMUM, three updates every year.

No, I'm sure we'll have at least one more update this year. The next one includes Nathalie, then a very small event with Ellie and Dylan, a small bonus event with Sophia.
What will make him the most time is the Sam event. I think it will be similar in size to the one with Aiden. But all the others...?! I think he will do it in 3-4 months.

It's all depends on how many renders he's going to need. We already know that this evening event is a major event. If he finishes this update at the end of May and the beginning of June, he would have 7 months to work on the evening update. If he needs that long, then expect a high amount of CS/Renders, but we have his vacation/holiday he wanted to take that was postponed too, so that will need to factor that in as well.

I must plead ignorance. I saw the movie a long time ago and remember not paying much attention to it.
I don't even remember the distraction. I think the movie "Clue" with like 5 different endings they scattered about the US would be a good example. I remember talking with friends and we had each seen a different ending. Talk about creating suspense, humor and a conflict. "No I am right." "You did not pay attention." "Were you asleep at the end." "How did you see the movie and not get it. " LOL

I believe when he switched to 1/3 day updates it was so that there would be around 6 updates per year.
Personally I think it's going to be a mixture of what everyone has been saying: it will be a simple update where the Aiden task is a small improvement from task 2, but behind last update. The Dylan event will focus on Sophia trying to convince him he should get a girlfriend like Maria (parallel to the Emma storyline). Possibly a massage, but Sophia wears a towel or something, so no nudity. Some are going to love it, and some are going to think it was pointless. L&P's patrons are going to rise to new heights when the update releases, then stagnate as months progress.
Save the towel for the next Ellie-Sophia scene. We don't need a towel.
