I don't get the purpose of "Decisions of Life." Is it meant as an alternative to AWAM or what?

is the Patreon legal version of AWAM.patreon don´t like things like incest .
This is my biggest interest in this entire story, not the game but the insane development.
Fans do not truly accept that development will take as long as it *will* take. In fact, as new technology releases it often necessitates more development time and this title already has had this happen! Look at the visuals from the first release to the mid-point to now.
Tech tends to release, be very hard and slow to achieve with consumer tech and then slowly get faster. By the time current standards are able to be done faster, the dev will just insist on doing what's new (making dev slower).
I maintain that there is no end at this pace. This is an ATM for the dev and financial backers don't have a true concept of 40 years because they're likely half that age on average.
There will likely be no end unless L&P gets a wakeup call and either hires a team (he won't) or make cuts to the story (he likely won't but will do so before hiring help).
The most depressing thing about it all is that it's a system maintained by guys just wanting to get their next nut. 10yrs, 20yrs or 40yrs, they don't care as long as in 4 months they can cum to some new material. They can see someone "touch the fabric" or fondle her tits without even trying to go further. Etc.
Even sadder is that if the dev were an actual artist, they wouldn't want the project to go so long. They'd get bored (I think he will anyway) and want to try something new. They wouldn't be afraid that they're a one-hit-wonder and want to try their next piece of art. Which, remember, he calls it that! He's the guy claiming that his work is such special set that his porn story about a married mother of two becoming a slut needs to be told over 30-40yrs. That's how special he thinks it is so I'm assuming he thinks of himself as an artist (and I never avoided admitting he does have some talent).
I just don't see how a Renpy-based porn story needs to take 3 or 4 DECADES. That's psycho, especially given that he clearly makes up the story as he goes. There is no grand outline. The goofy dialog and haphazard addition/dropping of story lines proves that he just kinda makes what he wants each release.
The timeline is just something I don't think most people - even those mocking it - fully understand. It's hard for anyone to fully understand 30-40yrs time in one's life, especially if you haven't even lived that long.

As stated before, the story of the development of this VN interests me more than the VN itself. I last posted on the day the most recent update released and everyone here was waiting for it. I finally checked it out and it was pretty on-par, nothing great. Some good but a lot of needless or poorly executed stuff.
The biggest missed opportunity or poorly executed aspect is Sophia telling the story of how she lost her virginity. It only makes sense if she's lying, telling this boy with a hard-on what he wants to hear in the moment.
It would make a lot of sense or saved only if another asks her at some later date and she gives a totally different account or story. Again, just patronizing them in the moment.
Why? Well, the dev has claimed that quality and believability (within the realm of a porn story) is paramount to him.
If so, he has never had sex with a virgin lol. Ever.
No virgin in the history of human sex has ever orgasmed after a 40yo man got her drunk, molested her a bit, stole her away, threw his dick in her mouth and then said "I want your pussy" as he tossed her on the bed and shoved his fat dick in her 17yo, virgin pussy. Never, not once.
Having had a few myself, it's an ordeal. There is a reason most grown men don't want a virgin. You don't necessarily want a filthy slut but sex isn't much more than self-gratification inside another person when she's a virgin. She's timid, in pain and scared. That's not a problem and actually realistic but the problem comes with how much the characters have changed over the course of...20 days or so. In look, they seem to have aged about 5 years MILF-time in an afternoon, lol.
It lends to me long time theory that the development timeline naturally fucks with even the developers image of the characters. He's "been with them" for so long that he can't help but age them up, forgetting that it's only been a few weeks time.
Anyway, after my first real run through since my discovery of this title about 4 years ago, I think the Dylan line is kind of lame. I think it shines with non-family members and that's not just due to my dislike of incest as a principle.
I think the Sam storyline is the best with the blackmailing possibilities being after that. Sam's dad would also be a major player if I were writing it as the football game/cheerleader scene is still the best concept L&P has done in this title. The husband's best friend has long loved Sophia from afar, since college. He can't take it anymore so he drugs her before trying to hook up. She rebuffs him but he confesses and...maybe he keeps trying. Plus it opens up a Dad vs Son thing between them.
Dylan just comes off like a weirdo to me so I'm not sure what the dev is trying to channel there. Yet, it's a major character so keep that going.
Ellie is worth following up on.
The delivery man is solid, too.
I'd cut either the sex-ed thing or the old men at the nursing home. Don't make a choice, outright remove one of them. Honestly, both being tossed would not change much and help dev speed but I know the dev has a thing for reverse young & old. He's gonna keep the sex-ed class for sure.
Frankly, as hot as Sam's mom is I would just refrain from anything that isn't purely Sophia's perspective. Maybe very short additions but no longer or more detailed than the virgin story this update. Development would immediately speed up if everything not from her point of view was told in the speed and detail of the virginity story. Quick, to the point and then done. No full update for side-story bullshit after 7 years of development, lol.

It might be because you didn't do a certain thing in part 1 with Sam.
Did you let Sam sit behind Sophia to play the cello on his bed in part 1.
Did you let Sam see Sophia's areola's in part one after Sam gave her the wine after cutting the grass.
When Sam, Dylan and Liam were playing basketball, did you let Spohia tease Sam when spied through her bedroom door.
Did Sophia go to Sam's concert.

There is definitely a trigger for that somewhere because the same happened to a few people. Then a save uploaded here fixed it for them, named 20-1 if you search.That's what I thought, so I tried the cheat and boosted my points in that regard tremendously but it didn't help
So it's a points thing (maybe a mix of a few) or a decision sometime in the past that keeps that scene from playing out. Not sure what exactly though.

Think I already played a AWAM fan game with Sophia and Dylan in a motel, there car breaks down and some old fart picks them up and drops them off at a motel...

It's even harder when you're 11-13 years old, which judging by some comments is not uncommon amongst the fanbase. Trying to get your head around 40 years at that age is like trying to imagine infinity. I've also often thought that there's no intent evident to have any reasonable end in sight, on the part of the Dev but I do think it will end a lot sooner than in 40 years time.
Customer care is a business attribute only vaguely understood by L&P. I could say that he relates it to giving fans more of the characters showing popularity in the polls but all he's done in relation to that is to make Dylan a 2nd MC & give us a hell of a lot more of him, to the extent that he seems to be the leading MC. ('Now with a selection of kinks from which to choose').
My never-to-be-realised wish is that he would sell the game to someone, or some persons, with the knowledge, skills, writing ability & above all, motivation, to do justice to his popular creation. Watching it go downhill under the guiding hand of the one who came up with it has made me hope for a radical solution, despite this being no guarantee of improvement.
Facepalm from karleston, what a surprise. Time you came up with some proper comments or suggestions for AWAM of your own, or is it just a case of being easy to second guess &/or criticise the critics? Maybe you think everything is just great the way it is. Why not share your opinion....not about the critics, because we know what that is but about the game & the direction it's taking. Try coming up with an idea or two. Something original perhaps? Surely you've been here long enough now. Tell us why you think it's wonderful & people shouldn't comment, except to praise & express their unbridled joy, failing which, they should be silent. Do you think you'll feel the same in 40 years time? Are you one of L&P's virgin schoolboys?
