I was saying this to let him know that many people have families and go to the hospital, even though they work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, and only take 10 days off a year.

I know that even if give LP enough time per render, LP will work for far less time than what I wrote.

For reference, I'm guessing that even if he works less than 40 hours a week, he will still have time.
According to our media reports, the average working time of Germans is about 5 hours per day, which is the shortest average working time in the world.:KEK:

Some interesting answers and some not-so-surprising answers as well, sadly, it didn't really distract from the usual complaining about the speed of updates.

anyway here is what I would do

1) remove the full point system and therefore rebuild the novel in Ren'py from scratch.
2) choices would be do you want to see filthy, lesbian or good wife route scenes, once you make a choice yes or no, then you're locked in for that gameplay.
3) choices regarding if you want a specific character involved with Sophia or not. Sam yes or no, Zach yes or no. If you vote yes, then you ALWAYS see scenes with that character and don't if you vote no.
4) remove the MR Bennett and Mob side of the novel completely.
5) remove the scene with the janitor and showering in school, that was silly.
6) replace the last scene with the maid and the maid once again masturbating on Sophia's bed. Sophia watches but she joins in outside. therefore the scene with the postman doesn't happen.
7) remove the scene with Dylan spying on them in the shower, would move that to sometime in future when Patricia finally tells Sophia about it, as she caught him but didn't say anything.
8) replace all the scenes with Ellie and Dylan with smaller scenes. Sophia interacts with them and sees there getting along better and getting closer. example, Sophia hears them both in Ellie's bedroom and investigates, and finds Dylan is fixing Ellie's computer.
9) remove the scenes with Dylan and Christine, and Dylan and Emma
10) would keep Emma in class, the transfer out of Sophia's class seemed pointless.
11) in the cello lesson when Sophia meant to say that the end but gives in and poses nude, I would end with both of them actually having sex, but Julia catches them before they finish. Also, Dylan spies on them across the street and we find out eventually that there was a bet between Sam and Dylan on who could get the furthest with Sophia.

Is important to note that, it is always easier with the benefit of hindsight to look back and work things out, than first think of what to do.

Not bad...

But you forgot the MOST IMPORT change and that it comes from the very beginning... {{{Motives}}}

Basically, you have to rewire Sophia brain as to why any events have an effect on her actions. You can still keep the same personality, but her internal reasons would be the motivation behind her behavior. Yes, you can give her some psychological problems, but people really don't want to play a game with a psychopath. (I hope)

So let's say in the beginning, she is a neglected wife more or less. Husband stuck in the "glamour" world of his job...likes to flirt around and is self-absorbed. Which Liam is a little bit in the current story. Second, Sophia's back story ought to reflect she was a very popular girl growing up... prom queen... star on the lady's basketball time... desired by ever boy. Enters college with a full basketball scholarship... while in college, had some adventures (mild ones) with only a few wild adventures but nothing too serious. Third, her kids are growing up and Empty nest syndrome is catching up with her--would like to have one more baby as she currently does in the story. Lastly, a mild case of midlife crisis would be helpful. Already she is good about maintaining her looks so every lady's event she does from shopping to hair styling as well as fashion sense reflects that.

All that means is Sophia likes the attention she is getting from, EVERYONE, now in the current story. Part of the attention she will deliberately seek--think fishing for compliments. Making Sophia starved for affection also serves to further the story allowing, EVERYONE, currently in the story to get emotionally closure to her.

Then you can hint at a Sophia "Darkside." The great regrets of "what if." The times when opportunities presented themself but she never took them. Like a handsome history teacher making a pass at her while in high school--she wanted to but didn't. The time she didn't go too far in an exciting game of 'Truth or Dare.' And last, just some good old fetishes she has that fuels her fantasies.

The game is trying to give primarily two binary choices, Saint or Sinner--at least in a redeveloped version give some clues and reasoning why the choices are made.

Yet during World War 2 they were working over time! Which reminds me of the Seinfeld joke: " I imagine when Hitler was a kid some kid had him as a friend, he went to visit young Adolf, and left a note for his parents, I'll be at Hitlers"

I'm playing from the beginning (again). It really had much more thought to it in the initial instalments. You can clearly see the story is there and all threads seem to lead somewhere. Even (forgive me, Drew Carey) points make sense and matter.

Also, just had had a chance to recall how Dylan peeved on Ellie literally in the prologue :sneaky:

That's when the Dev was motivated & had some vision for how he wanted to develop his creation. I remember reading of how long he expected the project to take & although the estimates changed, it was always just a few years, not up to 40. Character & story-wise it was much better than what L&P later decided it would become. Whatever happens with AWAM it can never come close to fulfilling the potential it had back then. It's become so stretched & slow that speculation about whether it has been abandoned already doesn't seem unduly pessimistic.

While writing this I realised that all the sex/corruption games I've played that I would rate as above average ended up abandoned, or received a rapid, shortcut, unsatisfactory ending.

He initially said this game would be over in 5 years.

And months or years later, he said again, he didn't want to spend 10 years on this game.

But, well... As we know... It's like this.

Yeahhh - 2nd vacation within 2 months. happy life.
Let's assume that the author has no family, no friends, no social interaction, is physically healthy, and never gets sick :ROFLMAO:
As for LP working pace, he doesn't have to work more than 12 hours a day and 6 days a week.

Nonetheless, he enjoys a two to three week vacation once every three months.

The author works 5 hours a day without any problem :WeSmart:
Like you said, this developer work 5 hours a day, so they don't need extra vacation time to see family or go to the hospital.

You need to learn how to keep your arguments consistent. :WeSmart:

alright, so I like to inject some questions into this thread and change the usual convos you see in here for a bit.

Let's say hypothetically speaking, you somehow end up with the complete IP rights to AWAM, you have everything, all the 3d assets, Ren'py files and written scripts you need to continue AWAM yourself.

What are the first few things you do?
I meant to respond to this a long time ago:

  1. Drop the side jobs- They're too much. They occur too infrequently, are too isolated from the rest of the story, and (mostly side job 2) are too controversial. With updates being so infrequent, it's a waste of time to dedicate resources to storylines that don't advance Sophia's relationships with major characters. In the case of side job 1 especially, the gaps between events are so great that there's no connection with the characters or their related kinks.
  2. Bring back Coach Sophia- Coach Sophia was a great idea, and it is suspicious to me that L&P dropped it almost immediately. Coach Sophia would replace the two side jobs. It would give Sophia an added opportunity to interact with a wide variety of characters (both major and supporting) in a different and unique environment. Between games and practices, the Coach Sophia storyline would have regular events and could be a great launching point for different relationships and kinks.
  3. Drop Morello- Sophia's involvement with him should end with her using Morello to end things with Aiden. Going forward he doesn't strike me as necessary for the game to be enjoyable, so don't waste time with him.
  4. More time jumps- I'd let the game's timeline jump around more because I think it would help flow. At the current pacing, the event-based release schedule is too inefficient. Because everyone expects each release to have some sexual content, that now means that each event needs to have something sexy happen. When L&P was releasing full day or 1/3 day updates, you would get events and scenes without sexual content, and that made the story flow better. But now we're getting sexual content in every event because who the hell wants to wait 4 months for an event without something to jill/jack-off to?

So, if we're going to stick with event-base releases, let the timeline jump around. We don't need to follow Sophia every minute of the day. It's ponderous and unrealistic. Not every minute of every day is going to be interesting or sexy, but the event-based release schedule is forcing that to be the case. You could still keep the 30-playable days, but spread them out over 90-days (or whatever you want). A sexy scene with Dylan on the morning of PD 14, then jump to a sexy scene with Ellie at Lunch on PD 17, and then have a dinner party with Andy and Whatshername on PD 19. This would make more sense narratively than trying to cram all three events into a single day.
  5. Reuse a lot more assets- I'd start to find ways to place events in fewer locations. I don't want to totally eliminate new environments, and L&P has reused some environments, but it's a waste of time to build a new environment for a one-off event. For example, L&P spent a lot of time building the bar for Sam's concert, and I think there's no chance that we ever see it again. That's a bad use of resources. Instead, have Sam play a show at a location that Sophia regularly visits. Treat the game like a regular TV-show with standard sets. When you do need a new environment, either keep it simple or really make sure it's an event worth the resources.
  6. Develop Liam's character more- I know it's popular to hate Liam, but failing to develop his character is a real missed opportunity. The game is asking us to corrupt Sophia, and part of corrupting her is acknowledging the disruption to her life. But Liam is such a empty vessel that it dampens the sense of Sophia's corruption because who cares if she's cheating on Liam, he barely exists in the game.
I think 6 is enough for now.

According to our media reports, the average working time of Germans is about 5 hours per day, which is the shortest average working time in the world.:KEK:
I don't know how reliable the reports & that statistic are. I've stayed in Germany & everybody I encountered worked more than 5 hours per day. They worked hard for very good wages. None of this really matters either way. It's meaningless in the AWAM context, because it's not about how many hours German workers complete on average but how the Dev chooses to work. (He's in Switzerland now anyway). He's his own boss. Nobody here can influence his work schedule. He works when & how he chooses.

It's also about the organisation & distribution of work. One person may need 4 hours to complete a task that would take another 8. After 6+ years of developing this game, it's reasonable to presume that anyone drawing a lucrative income from it would have honed production to a fine art. Instead it can be seen that the reverse is the case, efficiency & a high rate of production were present early on, before tapering off to the current standard approach. Event-based updates every 2-3 months have proved to be particularly inefficient & not only prone to delays but they actively destroy the flow & immersion capacity of the story, which is now constrained by the need to include some sort of "lewd" element every time, no matter how illogical or out of place. Characters & stories have long taken a back seat, in favour of episodic, incremental blue-balling &/or sexual activity, a situation which lends itself to being continued for however long L&P decides.

IMO it's obvious the Dev is not motivated by his original ideas for AWAM but having established the popularity of his creation, is rather doing just enough to produce his average teen porn story, in order to maintain an income stream. If a substantial core of Patrons are happy with the situation that's all that needs to concern him.

The progress is stuck at 85% and 80% now. We have no idea what LP is doing whether restructuring the story, doing some personal things... Anyone knows what is happening?
What it means is that after the last update he took an extra week off and didn't catch up for a July release, so now he has to drag it out to the end of July to get max payout.

Yup, I have said many times that my disinterest in the story as it exists now happened when he started realizing he could draw it out for personal gain. Once you realize that you have to come up with reasons for it and it always makes a story worse. You start to add needless characters, side stories you'll never finish. Etc.

Further, I've always said that it's blatantly obvious that he *didn't* have it all written out. No chance. When you replay it you see it for the garbled, everywhere at once (and yet nowhere) mess of nonsense that it slowly becomes. It's a dude just winging it, making what seems ok and maybe even hot to him at the time. So many plot points and full updates just make zero sense even in the context of a nonsense porn-logic story. None.

I'm just interested in the development at this point. The place it kind of lost me was the 14th "touch the fabric" scene where she puts on a all-but-nude fashion show for these teen boys.
Fine as a standalone thing but in the context of the story it's crazy. IIRC, I tapped out there.

The user above gave a lot of good ways to fix this game (or for someone/some group to re-make it). Cut all the fat. Bennett, the mob, the janitor, etc. Point system can largely go. Make hard forks in the road. Yes or no, see it or don't based on a simple decision at a consequential moment. Think more like Life Is Strange than an RPG where the collective results of 9000 moments sends you down one of 900 paths.

Because, much like when you hear that we'll all die someday and you just think "yeah...without really considering it, so many fans of this story aren't fully taking in that at the current rate this story will take another 20...25 years to finish. They read it and hear people saying it but they aren't FULLY accepting that fact.
If the dev doesn't make serious changes this will go on forever and likely just be abandoned.
Many will say "that's his plan, it's his retirement" and to that I say to force it to not be. Walk away. If he actually adapts and finally listens, great! If he doesn't and just stops making it, you got your proof that it was always a milk-job on purpose.

It's a win-win.
