Because of this game every other game devs try to milk and slow their production lol. so stupid. One example is Ms Denvers who is copying everything this game does lmao.

I'm honestly in awe that anyone believed this guy would stay true to that "promised" development cycle. Some of us DID try to warn people what he was going to do. Sadly, his patron base only increased. A fool and his money are soon parted as the old saying goes.
1. People are disappointed because this thing no longer has any sense of good direction on the part of the developer. He's got everything going off in multiple directions at once, where each new update gets shorter in content and longer in development with no substantial movement in terms of the story, least of all the action people now want to see.
2. He doesn't know what he wants to show. That's part of the lack of direction on his part. If he had any idea of what he wanted to show, this game would already be half finished if not near complete considering how long it's been in development hell.
3. Most of what he's been adding in with all the side stories is referred to as feature creep in every other area of the gaming industry. It's ok to have multiple paths in a story, so long as that number does not become overly complex for the developer to manage it in a reasonable amount of time. He's failed to do that and just keeps adding more minor characters and paths that have zero relevance to the story he originally was telling.
4. I half suspect that whatever plan he originally had for this was never fully thought out like he claimed. It'd explain why it's become a complex mess, especially in regards to the story.
Don't worry, he'll have that down to 3% per week by next year.

Including this Dylan and Ellie adventure into the game is even worse than having the 2 side jobs. At the very least the 2 side jobs provide opportunity to move the plot with Sophia.
This is like waiting years for a Spiderman sequel only to see a rom com movie of Aunt May going on dates. Which can be interesting but has nothing to do with Spiderman.
