Another thing I would say is that, whilst the renders of BaDIK are impressive, they seem to use very standard lighting, poses that require minimal adjustments, and have a lot of those renders where characters will say several lines and the facial expressions never change. Whereas L&P's renders have much more detailed lighting and they pose their characters in much more detailed ways as well as adjusting the character expressions a lot more.
It's the only solution to shorten the time between uupdates and keep the whole story. Presets for lights: morning, noon, afternoon, outside/inside. Presets for poses. Minimal adjustments and render.

There is no any obligations here, not to Patreon, and not to his supporters. When someone is giving money over Patreon, it is like they throwing it into wishing well.

I don't know how he will try and resolve this and he is discussing this with his patrons ,and to be fair they are really the only ones that count,as 99% of the people on here are not patrons.
I don't think that it is so low, because this is the main place how people find out about games. Probably they are not all active here.

anyone who takes money from other people for their work takes on some obligations that they are supposed to fulfill. If the author worked exclusively out of love for art, then no one would say anything to him. Look at Fan Art. there, the authors publish their art scene. No one ever blamed them for the fact that some of them rarely do this. Because these people are engaged in pure creativity.

The story from Acting Lessons and BaDIK is much better. There's no comparison.
AWAM has pretty much standard stuff that we see in these VNs..

Render-wise AWAM is great but it's too many renders. He would make a way better "game" by dropping 1/4 of the renders entirely and another 1/4 as easter eggs throughout the "map".

Theres a ton he could do to make this better but for some reason he wont do it.
He wont finish this game if it continues like this.
They could reduce renders, but it depends on how they're being utilised. If this upcoming yoga event, for example, has all 380 renders just being static images (i.e. none used as animated frames), then it would certainly seem excessive for something similar to what BaDIK did in just 136 renders in the most recent episode. However, if a lot of these renders are to create animations, then that's OK, but past experience would seem to suggest that they won't be as the Ellie shower event was 146 renders and around 30 were for animations, and the Dylan photoshoot event was 434 renders with no animations.

There are other things they could do like, shortening the number of daily events to around 5-6 as this seems to be about the average for each half-day; make some days have minimal events (like weekend days) in order to cover more than one day in a single update; set their own custom lighting for certain settings (if they haven't done so already); be a little less meticulous with posing and expressions; and reduce the number of characters and story threads to just centre around her advancement with the "core" characters.

It's a little disconcerting to see how stubborn and beligerent they're being on Patreon right now, actually defending this game potentially taking 10 years to be finished and even openly admitting that the 2nd side job with the 3 boys will not have much impact on the story. So then why even have it if it doesn't serve any real purpose? If characters and story threads don't advance Sophia's sexual progress with the core characters, then they shouldn't be in the game.

Cutting out some of these characters and story threads is probably one of the biggest things that could be done, but reducing the number of events per day would go a long way towards improving things and L&P can still tell the story they want with the characters they want, but just spread it out a bit more rather than trying to pack so much into each day.

Who are Emily and April? I do not believe they are characters in the game.
They're referring to the names of the characters in that artist's gallery.

L&P doesn't take criticism well? I thought that was understood. Which is why I don't get the arguments for L&P doing anything - he's simply not going to listen to them. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, especially since it's one of the few with lesbian action (although there are a few lately that give him a run for the money), but criticizing him is futile, and he's not going to listen.

At present BaDIK has 10,214 scene renders in the game. This number, however, doesn't include all the images from the mini-games, phone apps, free-roam clickables (parts of scene renders on transparent backgrounds), and special renders. They also have 517 animations in the game too. The latest episode also had 2546 full screen renders and DPC's status update yesterday said that they've done 700 renders for episode 6 in about about 2 weeks.

Compare that to the first half of Day 18 in AWAM which had 515 renders, and the game has a total of 6910 renders.

I do feel these should numbers should come with disclaimers though, chief among them is that, although AWAM has been in development longer than BaDIK, we know that L&P was a student for pretty much all of that time and is a big reason why this game has taken so long. However, I feel I should also point out that DPC had a job up until late last year whilst they had been developing BaDIK and Acting Lessons.

Another thing I would say is that, whilst the renders of BaDIK are impressive, they seem to use very standard lighting, poses that require minimal adjustments, and have a lot of those renders where characters will say several lines and the facial expressions never change. Whereas L&P's renders have much more detailed lighting and they pose their characters in much more detailed ways as well as adjusting the character expressions a lot more.

So, basically, whilst both games are good and impressive, we have a case where one dev is very meticulous with their renders which is what takes them a while, and another who is less meticulous which takes them less time but they can still make them look good. I also think DPC has about 2-3 high-spec rendering machines as well and L&P might not have the same.
Probably we should compare COBD and AWAM and not BAD

Everyone expects so much from the next update, I hope there will not be too much disappointment.

But L&P if you read this message divides by 2 your renderings, keep the most important scenes for this number of renderings (380-450).
That's all we ask of you.
You know very well what you are worth. You have nothing to prove to anyone. Your work speaks for itself. No need to try new things now (the sooner you finish your project, the faster you can start a new one, with a huge gain already).

What do you think, where do most patrons come from? Places like this are crucial for porn games creators on crowdfunding platforms.

he only should care about his patrons and not the haters/trolls.
Personally, I don't see many haters/trolls here, but I see many disappointed people, potential patrons, and even ex-patrons, with a valuable input.

Well, I'm a supporter and I complain a lot, mainly about how long it will take for this game to be developed. Honestly, unless L&P has a rig that can only render out 10 images a day, this should be going a lot quicker. If not, and their machine is capable of producing dozens per day, then the only thing that seems to be holding them back is their meticulous attention to detail and having so many different character and story threads, some of which seem totally unnecessary. L&P even openly admitted on Patreon that the 2nd job with the 3 boys will not have an impact on the story, so why are they even in the game in the first place?

There are characters that this game could easily afford to lose and nobody would really mind, but even just reducing the events per day could cut the time between now and the completion of the game in half. Day 12 has 12 events (9 total, 3 variants based on paths) that need to be developed and we know that most half-days end up being around 5-6 events, but if L&P could make one full day 5-6 events, with perhaps a couple of variants, this would surely allow them to do one full day in a single update.

They could also do a couple of days in one update if they make them relatively eventless, i.e. weekends. Maybe they could do both days on the weekend by doing something like this:

It's things like this that L&P could do, even have a weekday where Sophia just gets up, goes to work, comes home for an event with Nathalie, and then has a quiet night in or maybe even invites Patricia over for drinks. Maybe they plan on having some quieter, less eventful days later on and we can but hope that they will, but continuing to pack so much into each day such that they can they only provide half-day updates every 3-4 months, doesn't fill people with a lot of confidence that this game will be completed due to the length of time it will take and the great risk this poses of developer burn-out.

Well he is not going to cut characters or the two side jobs.
Also the other characters in game,Vicky,Maria,Claire,Nat,Bennet,Logan,Tyler are not in every update so the inpact will not be that great,but I get your point.
The renders I agree with you and the insane amount that he puts into the game, cut these down and things will speed up.

IMHO, the main reason why people are disappointed and quite angry sometimes - empty promises from dev.
No promises - no complaints.
I'm curious to know, what excuses he's going to make just do not hire people? :unsure:
