People most likely come to incest fantasies at a more mature age, when ordinary sex no longer evokes such vivid emotions as before, and they want new, stronger stimuli. There's no way to verify that in relation to the AWAM fanbase, it's just my opinion arrived at after 5+ years of this & until a year ago still actively playing. It's a fact, however, that fetish preferences aside, L&P is catering for kids & it's becoming clear that, apart from yet another incestuous relationship expected with her sister, (again of no interest to non-incest followers), there's no prospect of genuine adult extra-marital relationships with Sophia in sight for years to come, if they ever occur. It's years since Sophia had a truly erotic encounter with another adult. [I don't count the salon fumbling because I didn't find Clare's efforts erotic].
Such M/S incest as there is in AWAM is playing out, IMO, in a very unrealistic way but is in line with the average 3D teen porn that comprises 90% or more of games. They're relentless & the lack of variety is striking. I'm led, after the disappointment of AWAM's direction, to the inexorable conclusion, that 90% or more of game players are very young, with many having an understandably imperfect appreciation of how sexual relationships, including incest, happen & how they progress, or don't, as the case may be.
It may be "where the market is" but what happened to AWAM's unique market niche? It's looking very likely that there's never going to be a 'realistic' gaming story, written by an adult for adults.

This game was always an incest focused game. The entire reason this game is so popular is because it's largely the only significant mom MC game around. Dylan and Ellie have always been the most popular characters, along with Pat being quite popular too.

The poll is poorly constructed. Dress A has cumulatively far more votes than Dress B, but dresses A1, A2, and A3 are cannibalizing votes while Dress B1 has concentrated all the votes for the Dress B line. It would have been better to break the poll up into two polls, the first deciding the dress and the seconding picking a color for the winner of the first poll.

Evidence is all around, e.g. who else but the hormonally charged would think A3 is a suitable dress for a mother to go on a 'date' with her son? [Even if it wins, there's no guarantee that L&P will pick it. Polls are created to waste time]. Why is the cast of teenagers the biggest this side of a '60s beach movie?
There's no reason that a M/S incest story can't be realistic & IMO AWAM did indeed once have at least a veneer of realism in comparison to other 3D stuff out there. I know that because I've played plenty of them. AWAM wasn't porn, it was erotica. That's gone now & if this old man wants to "yell at the clouds" then I'll do that. Maybe one fine day someone will realise that there's a bigger potential audience in gaming circles & create the type of story AWAM should have been. One day, when he's older, maybe L&P will realise the waste of potential & make something better.

I agree that this game gained popularity by putting forward a "Mom MC" that was not common at the time.
The game also benefited from Covid-19.
Of course, it's not just this game that benefited from that period.
But I can't agree with what you said about not getting hung up on 'realism'.
As you say, the reason for getting hung up on 'realism' is because LP said so.
If a director says that he made a movie with what intention, it is natural to judge whether the words were properly implemented in the movie.
The incest is not realistic at all, but I won't argue with it.
However, if it happened on a daily basis in reality, it would never be made into pornography.
Just like pornographers don't porn the sex of an ordinary couple.
But I felt a lot that the supporters of this game were young.
Even if they're not teenagers.
Their imagination was unrealistic and they lacked an understanding of what was happening in real life.
So their reasoning and expectations turned to disappointment every time.

Sam and Aiden don't exist in real life and they should have gone further.
Harris should have had a clear purpose when he visited Liam's house and should have carried it out.
Or put in the setting that Harris is the neighbor next door.
People play Fortnite and don't care about realism.
The reason why people consider reality in this game is because of the game's background and the developer's words.

That the game was never realistic isn't the problem. I don't complain about the lack of realism in other game threads. I only complain about it here, because one of the selling points of the game is it's realism (and class).
If the game was at least internally consistent, that would have been okay, but even then the game falls down. Sophia is meant to be a talented, intelligent woman. I can't see any way that she would make the decisions to play any of the content this playable day.
It's almost as if there is no longer any consistent story. The impression I'm getting from reading the comments is that some of the variables to get a scene are so complicated, you may as well just play from the gallery.
Fortunately there are other games that are more consistent. Two I hear that are having releases this weekend.
