DAZ3D and sometimes for animations other Software,
DAZ3D is free and you can find resources everywhere, but you need a powerhouse of PC to really be quick in rendering: best GPU (preferably 2x), best PSU, etc. think about 7K - 10K USD PC ... better wait for RTX 5090 for this

which translated means: abandon the idea of doing the same work as L&P or making fan art or making your own game
It should be stressed that these are the requirements for serious development (as you said: "really be quick in rendering"), not prototyping and learning.

I think L&P is using the software called Topaz Lab some AI enhancement for images... I personally don't like all the extra sharpening, looks very strong and fake, but some of the renders are truly special
I also forgot to mention that you need some programming experience to use RENPY and possibly Python for more advanced overlays.. but with money you can get your own programmer
Money solves all problems but I think that there is little money in this industry and LP is faking the subscribers a lot, possible he has only 10-15 4ever, the rest come and go ... up to 20-40 totals
He used to fake it more on Patreon, on SS no one really cares
