Cuz life is racist. Such neighborhoods exist and can be dangerous for such women. And for man as well to be honest. Common sense is not a racism. There are plenty of dangerous people on this planet regardless of their race but some groups are more common so they became a form of cliche.
I was going to ignore this so as not to derail the thread, but the issue is actually tied into a more general problem i think the game has. (only the beginning bit is a bout race, i promise)
First of all, the vast majority of all crimes are committed by someone of the same race as the victim. Particularly violent crimes. Staying safe in a built up urban area is really a matter of staying away from dangerous areas, which can be predominantly populated by any race and is correlated more closely with other factors, and framing it as "high class white woman" staying away from minority neighborhoods is pretty blatantly racist.
But to the point of it being a problem with the game... what did that scene even have to do with anything? What purpose in the story or character development did it serve? Why did it have to be in the game? Like, did we need to be taught there are dangerous areas in big cities?
A lot of people are complaining about how slow the game is and those complaints are at least partially legit. Not everything has to be sex porn sex, and there's a lot of value in buildup, but there's a ton of renders and dialogue and whole conversations and scenes in this game that are irrelevant to anything and just go nowhere.
Another example is the drive from the airport to the new house. The game would have benefited from that scene being smaller by half at least. The school situation for the kids had already been explained in detail, and yet here we are having it reiterated to Carl. Why do we need to hear this again? Why do we need to hear that Carl went to that school, knows people there, played football there, etc. Why do we need to be told there's a big cafeteria, two pools, etc. Then the petting zoo, the ponies, cougar endangerment status, Carl continuing to be a boastful pompous jerk (that's very well established by now), Liam making snide comments, Sophia getting annoyed... it just kept going and going. It's superfluous minutiae. Boring and pointless. I found that many of the scenes suffered from this kind of thing to one extend or another.
If you take out all this filler, suddenly the bragging point of there being so much content in each version is kinda thrown out the window. I feel like the dev sorta of confused adding 'realistic content', which is really just unimportant details bogging everything down, and a lot of it, with bringing 'quality' and 'depth'. They could really use the help of an editor, as well as more focus on content that actually serves some relevant purpose to the characters, the story, and in the genre.
