Worlds adrift is(or was more precisely) a real game made by a real companie, i advise changing the name of this project.

also, i belive it is time we come up with a standardised way to name versions. this one is at the very least 2 "0" too far.
God damn it. I was so sure I was safe on the name... Maybe A World Astray? Hopefully its not too hard to change the thread name.

I apologize for the version number, the next release will have more normal ones from here on out.

I think it's about time f95 got an engine tag for Godot…

Well you're wrong. It's very easy to spot people who want to point a finger on others for whatever reasons.
Good. Then I'd advise working on comprehension next, then you would realize that your worries are unfounded.

What's going on in the last image? 'You fuck her pussy', 'she gets her anus fucked by you'. You penetrate the pussy but apparently fuck the ass?
You and the NPC take "turns" in the sex scene. Currently, the NPC picks what it will do completely at random (for now). So in this case, the player chose vaginal sex, and the NPC then for its own turn chose to receive anal sex. I understand that this looks bad and is confusing. Like everything else, the sex system will be iterated on and improved.

its the same issue that Liliths Throne has. the MC decides he wants to go vaginal and in the same "turn" the NPC decides to go anal so this happens
This will hopefully be alleviated by the addition of "continuous" actions like Strive for Power has, which should stop the NPC from interrupting what the player is attempting to do.

No offense, but this feels like the Tomb Raider Remake of porn games in its current state. Everything gets the drop on me and I'm either one third or half dead before I can even attack, and generally miss, and I'm playing Lupine, a race that should be agile and have good senses.

We should be able to fight on a decent enough level at the start, not feel like we're playing a spoiled rich kid whose family fell apart and we were chucked into the wild with no skill beyond calling for the butlers/maids to do everything for us.
Lupine have low speed, and goblins(who you are most likely to be fighting) have high speed. This means they will generally attack before you, and dodge you fairly easily. What you say about the Lupine makes sense, I think I will rebalance their starting stats somewhat for higher speed. I envisioned them as the "strength" option, but it would be sensible for them to be a more "balanced physicality" sort of option, strength and speed. Thank you for the feedback!

In some ways, you arguably are, having grown up and lived in the relative sanity and security of Remisia. You may find this screenshot of a mockup of character creation from back in May interesting!

That was purely a mockup, selecting those options didn't actually do anything and I focused on other features. But its an idea I'd like to revisit, give you an option to start off with some skills or stat bonuses depending on what you were before exile.

Version 0.0.0.01, you sure that's enough zeros? Does that mean there's only one line of dialogue or something?

You should keep your advices for yourself.
My worries will fade only when I see results and not by words only.
People usually like to make false promises and if you believe everyone who say whatever is true you can keep doing it.

Find a solution for this in the mean time... i cant try this game if it means ether something or a false positive. This gave me a increase in my blood to pump fast my body temp rose. I want to try you game ngl, i prefer even without flavor text just add the stat bar show numbers and pop out while slowly unlock or instantly open options towards the NPC.

The text is waaay too small when viewed on a 4k monitor, making it too much of a chore to really read. So some sort of scaling option on the text is really required, I'd say. Not just for bigger monitors, but for people who have problems reading too. I kinda wound up just skipping the intro lore dump because I got a bit tired of squinting at the screen.

Health bars apparently round down, and there's absolutely nothing fun to see about an enemy be at 0/12 health, and then kill you because of rounding.

Should probably have save overwrite confirmation too...

Something that shows you how much HP and SP you gain from resting would be good to have. And a 'Rest until fully healed/restored' wouldn't be amiss.

In any case I'll be watching with cautious optimism. I love text based games like these, and always happy to see new ones. Generally prefer more purpose written scenes, compared to the interactive system of Lilith and the like, but I don't hate them. Best of luck to you.

What on earth? The game shouldn't be trying to delete anything except saves, and that's only if you tell it to. It's not a virus either, its just a text game. Its got to be a false positive, but I wouldn't blame you for leaving it be for now.

I'll see what I can do about a quick global font size slider in the next version. Odds are the results of it won't be too pretty, but that's better than it being illegible or unplayable.

Health and damage are decimal values. I went with rounding them to integers to keep the display from being too cluttered, but I will revisit that approach and try to find a happy medium for accuracy in the display.

Having the wait menu show how much is restored for the time waited wouldn't be a bad idea, and could look fairly slick. There actually used to be a "wait until fully healed" button an iteration or two ago on the wait system.

Thank you! I appreciate the well wishes, and hope I won't disappoint! I also appreciate the feedback (and that goes for all of it, not just your own!). Out of all the places I've put the game, F95 is the only one that's given me real feedback, and that's critical for knowing what to do to make it a better game.

Thanks! hope to see what ever caused the false positive to be fixed. Also try mega file storage maybe file host/storage(?) services might be the case if it triggered the m-soft general antivirus protection to pop up. Will wait for your public update when or if ever.

I've just tried this game, and I like what I've seen so far.

Like others, I was a bit bewildered by the number version :).
But at least, it's clear it's the first draft of the game.
So I hadn't a lot of expectation about the content, and braced myself for a festival of bugs.
But in fact, it wasn't bad at all.

About the contents, not a lot, but a bit more than I was expected.
It's set the world, we can create our character, and get an overview of the combat system.
Not so bad for a 1x10-20 version

The only bug that bugs ( :) ) me was the game resolution.
The bottom of the screen is overlapped by the Windows taskbar, which overlaps the Next button during the prolog.

My laptop is on Win11 (unfortunately) so perhaps it's OS-related.

Also, exploring doesn't advance the time.

Overall, nothing is a game breaker.

Some ideas for improvement (perhaps you have already planned some of them):
  • Being able to play in windowed mode.
  • When exploring, being able to travel directly from any places we already know.
For now, if having discovered the camp surroundings and the forest, one can't travel directly from one place to the other. One must pass through the camp. That make unnecessary click if one has nothing to do in the camp.
  • Similar idea, after exploring an area, you have to click on the Return button before being able to exploring more or going back to the camp. It will be great to don't have this Return button, but have immediate access to the buttons Explore and Return to camp

  • I'm a casual player, I will like having the ability to save whenever I want, and easily rollback after any choice (like with Ren'py games).
There are only some suggestions, and I understand (well, I will still slap my bedroom door and sulk for at least one hour :)) if you don't want to implement any of them. Or can't because of engine limitations.

Anyway, I must say I'm thrill with what I have seen so far.
I hope to see more soon.

EDIT: typos

The game actually already runs in windowed mode! Now, I think it actually is related to your laptop like you mentioned, but not for the reason you think! Here is my suspicion: your monitor resolution is 1920x1080, which is the resolution AWA opens at when ran. That would explain why the bottom is clipping with the taskbar and you can't see the top bar with title and such. I have something of a solution in mind!

Travel from within a region to another "connected" region is planned. Probably not in the next Public Release, I already have my objectives set for that (You can read about them in a public patreon post!), but likely relatively soon.

As to the Return button, it will die (probably by the next public release!) but I am sorry to tell you that its legacy will live on. The ExploreEvents will have a pop-up(think like what happens when you open your inventory in camp) to display the Event and its options (as opposed to sticking them in the same window as the Region's description). You will have to click a button to close this pop-up. Sorry. I can say however that once that happens you won't be locked into going straight to a new region when you discover it like you currently are, and will be able to stay where you currently are.

I intend to expand where you will be able to save the game from. Once again, likely not in the next Public Release, but eventually I want it to happen. Probably not to the degree that you can save and rollback after every dialogue choice or combat turn or the like, but much less chained to the Camp.

Thank you for your feedback, it is a great help to hear what people think could be improved! In this week alone the game has gotten much, much more playable thanks to the feedback from F95.
