"be patient" the Dev is following a "plan".
So PornAnon.

I remember being there in 2017, seeing those first updates thinking how great it is going to be when he finally adds some gameplay and content. And then more or less nothing happens, but the most insanely detailed clothes systems ever put in a video game. And so on. Remember checking back a year ago and thought it is still more or less the same. Sure there is content but I had no idea how to get to it. This game is just mad.

Sooooo... Is the gameplay similar to Lilith's Throne by Innoxia?
Not really. LT is your standard rpg, you go wherever, do weird quests for random people and don't really care about mundane shit.
This ... tries to be a life sim with the dev writing absurdly indepth essays on cup sizes but never explaining half the things that make your character fall into deep and terminal depression, like apparently not getting laid for a week.

Whoa...

I kind of hoped the sex would be similar to that of LT! :( Oh well! Thank you for your input! ^_^

I wouldn't say so. Lilith's Throne right now is far more developed and makes considerably more sense. Its social system is functional and creates decent emergent stories. Its sex system is far more developed, and its world fits together as a working unit. Accidental Woman is nowhere near that state.

In the v0.43 (latest one in the OP at time of commenting) I seem to have lost the sidebar, with all the controls, and can't get it back. Have I accidentally hit a button or is there a bug?

I still want to play around with this, but after only two games I've run into the same problem - companionship always runs too low. Interacting with people or coworkers doesn't help that which seems kinda weird? The need for sex is a little excessive on normal too, but maybe I'll just have to drop libido to zero next time. I was also hoping this would be treated like a real world but very sexual events happen, but no normal stuff is intended to be sexual which forces you into sexual situations. I see a lot of potential in this but the comments here seem to be fed up with development. Idk I just had to put my thoughts out. The writing is pretty good though

The ridiculously detailed (and mostly pointless) chargen and clothing systems have been in for a while. I thought they were there since the beginning, but might have been a couple builds in (I think it was the original intro with 'bullseye' as the only destination when I first tried it, but both the chargen and clothing systems were fully fleshed out). Definitely agree about not really knowing where the content is, I tend to grab a version, get annoyed that I can't do anything/find any content, then ignore it for another year. Really doesn't help that (at least last time I played) there were plenty of teaser locations and jobs using placeholder content. Seems like the dev's focus shifted entirely to pregnancy and marriage and holy crap I just realized how similar this game actually is to Newlife.

Yeah back when this project started it was clearly inspired by newlife, and the dev's motivations were clearly "I can make a more robust-seeming version of that popular game and milk it on patreon for years", and here we are 4 years later and that's exactly what he's done. I'm not remotely surprised, think it's time to delete this particular bookmark for followup.

At least with newlife, the sex scenes were descriptive and made sense. Every time I try AW, I can't seem to find any content other than clothes and a grindy job that seems to go nowhere. Oh - I guess there's prostitution, which is also boring as hell. Why do I bother coming back to even look at this?

It's Newlife plus Girl's Life. Except less playable because the sex scenes are awful, and your character actually kills herself because the grind is bad.

But, unlike Newlife, I can't call this dev lazy. There's tons of work put into this game. Lots of story, systems, lore, and graphics. A lot of it sounds super hot and cool, but then it all just kinda falls apart when you poke at it.

So the game sort of plops you in front of a list of nine different jobs during the prologue... is there anything really noteworthy about the choices? For example, are some jobs barebones in content while others have far more? Do some jobs unlock parts of the game or hidden content? Or really anything interesting to note?

You are probably right that it was all in the beginning. I thought it started mostly as a character creation with one little scene, but it is quite some time back.

And yes it reminds me of Newlife as well. Both very intriguing games with potential...but one dev is just overambitious on so many fronts and the other is just doing one small thing every month.

I'm fairly new to the community and haven't played a lot of the games here. But this is - for better or worse - one of my favorites. I think I like the potential and the size of the board. It makes me imagine that this game could ultimately be played from any fantasy angle, incorporating any kink. The mod system that can be downloaded has the potential to allow users to add a ton of custom content.

The problem is the number of "placeholders" and incomplete paths. There are entire areas with zero content and little explanation of their place in the story/game. The stats are wild - and with the cheats added in - the player has to keep their head on a swivel to keep from dying of loneliness, exploding from milk production, or winding up "mindbroken" with no clue how to fix it. The clothing system, previously mentioned, is indeed expansive, but ultimately incomplete and inconsequential. NPCs will mention your clothes and nudity can draw LE attention, but other than that just hit your "home" button and awkward situations magically go away.

This is a real up and down playing experience. If you try to mess with the cheats (which you will want to do, lest you die repeatedly) you can totally jank it. The cheats are necessary, but also game-breaking. It is rich and deep in some ways - and it appeals to my own "over-thinking", "Yes-but-whatabout" nature. I think the development suffers from developer kink which makes this game most engaging when you play as "eager to get pregnant." On the one hand, there is a passion for the kink that makes it interesting even for someone (me) who really isn't into that - and the developer has made room for mods to give the player a good bit of control. On the other hand, this leaves everything else kinda partly done, hardly implemented, and puts much of the experience on the player to craft their own.

It's ambitious, but it's like a tree with a lot of baby limbs. Sadly, given the development time put in so far, I have to question whether or not a fleshed out version is something those of us following the game can hope for.

I can see that as a reason. This game does have good original eye-catching graphics, which will get more attention than the tons of otherwise better games out there.

Some good ideas but it is too buggy. Ran into multiple crash bugs. Latest one was getting a text from the "book club" while my MC was working her job as a stripper. After closing the text message, nothing on the screen but the background and the job clipboard.
