Yeah, I get what you're saying. Personally, suddenly adding actual relationship drama would be very jarring, and when this scene can up it definitely did feel unexpected. But I think that's partially the point of the scene, since a good bit of comedy is the build up and sudden release of tension. It's a prank on the MC, but also a bit on us as the player since it briefly diverges from our expectations before resolving back to the established "norm" that we've come to expect from relationships in AR.
Well, it did surprise me. And the fact there actually was an angry response in the game makes it look intentional, like the dev assumed the players' reaction and to make up for it to the mc and the players she put in a sex scene afterwards. I guess I'm in the minority that couldn't appreciate the joke. Or the following sex scene.
Indeed. For me it was wasting an interesting scene.
It was all going easy, too easy. I was expecting the mc's "luck", for the lack of a better word, to run out sooner or later. So that scene was that "iceberg" that you know must be somewhere out there. You can imagine my disappointment when it just fizzled out. "Slam bam, have a sex scene, now move along."
Well, maybe next time.
Gonna be quick: I'm currently in the scripting/coding stage. I'm working slower than I'd like, but I'm picking up speed as I go, trying to make the numerous sex scenes in this chapter feel different from each other.
Also trying to decypher the notes I wrote for the first few scenes that I wrote down while I had a high fever (I still don't know what I meant when I wrote "1/2 top HR 0-4" in the Jessica scene notes).
This means that I can announce that I'm planning to release Chapter 7 on Saturday, November 23rd, for Roommates and House Cats.
In case something goes wrong (like pulling out my back tomorrow setting up my new kitchen) I'll let you know beforehand.
Chapter 7 out, thread updated!
Here's a freebie, totally unrelated render of Sarah to celebrate me managing to cram an extended D&D "joke" in the game.
