This game over event occurs when at least 5 girls have starved to death. In winter, Food is always set to 0 and not used to feed your girls. Only 1 girl can starve to death per week, even if more than one goes hungry.it gives me the "With too many lives being lost in your family, Gaia loses faith in you and exiles you from her favor. All is lost." Ending, as I guess too many have starves (Food always gets reset to 0)
If you still have Food or Preserved Food left, the bad ending should not occur. In your second check, do you mean that the save was from playing the original and that it was working fine, but you got the game over as soon as you switched over to the mod? If that's the case, then the problem is with the mod.It does- The Value For Food gets set to zero, the Value for preserved Foodr loses some Value (the one that my Girls have to eat), and the Bad Ending occurs.
I now also did another Check: I used a Save from the Original that was in Summer, not Winter Time. Event occured nevertheless. Food was subtracted from the Values anyway.
I haven't looked at that mod, but the post you quoted says it only changed a sex scene. You can also check the counter variable for how many girls starved to death:
