Your Ren'py save files on Mac can be found at this path:
~/Library/RenPy/game_directory
To access the above path:
Open up a Finder window
Press COMMAND + SHIFT + G
Paste/enter the path (~/Library/RenPy/game_directory) into the text field and hit Go
But I wouldn't call that a backup, as it is indeed the only location, as you said.

haha I did on my first PT not sure if I will when I replay the game cause she is very tempting. As she reminded me of someone like Artemis where I just wanted to protect and see as a sister. But im like over year behind on updates on this one so I imagine alot will happen to change my mind on that front , as she was starting to change my mind slowly last time I played.
