The game won't even play. It goes to character select but no matter who I pick, it just crashes to desktop.

You don't have Discord or be part of any server? I really recommend you taking part on it, there's so much to see, to do and lots of people to meet too, who knows what goodness could bring to your live. I went to the Kemono website to see if there was anything new, since you can often find fan-uploaded content on that site by searching for the author, but unfortunately there's no update.
I believe a hero is needed.
It seems the update with the new character is out, but when I tried to play, it started to slow down until I reached the fourth level, where it wouldn't let me advance. The zombies kept running over me, but there was no cutscene, not even for the game over.
Hmm, that sounds rough.
You should upload the update here so we can test it to see if it's just your machine or not

Hi everyone! It's been a while, uh?! It took me forever to complete the last few scenes, and I still have to add a few details, and maybe one small extra scene. From this point forward I will be working on the SFX, intro card, and some small tweaks. And don't worry about the missing zombies in the animation, I'll make sure the stadium is filled with zombies.
I'll work hard to have all of this accomplished by the end of this month.

It's not a content update, but at least it's an information update, so it's better than nothing, don't you think?
