Check the RPGmaker settings menu, it's something like F6 IIRC, but could be one of the other F# keys.

i checked, and it says that BGM and other sounds should be on.

You simply need to install RTP - RPGVXAce.
Ask uncle google to find install files.

Yeah, pretty much any RPGMaker game that's not on MV or MX will need the RTP for whatever version it is installed. All it is is the default assets that come with the development tools, to save on the upload, download, and install size of the game. They could have included the RTP with each game, but then you have more space taken up on the hard drive, which used to be a much bigger deal.

This game is flawless gem. Save with gallery and all homeworks 2 times missed, so you can get all scenes through one walkthrough.

Im sure I speak for everyone here, this was one of the first games I played, other than Lily of the Valley, but I fully support this idea.
