I heard ppl saying the dev doesn't have much (patreon) support despite it being one of the best rated games around so I assume other ppl were also turned off by the uninspiring mc and didn't bother to subscribe.
The dev can put any mc he likes but by putting a better mc, not only we can fully enjoy his great game but he also would get better financial reward for all the effort he put. It's a win-win situation for both unless he doesn't really need money and just doing this for fun.
I had the same thoughts with the MC originally too, but it really seems that the dev has made him the way that he is for story purposes. He's supposed to be a dorky average man to advance the overall theme. While I would still prefer a more fit guy with a bigger cock to be the MC in any game, its fine, and I really love the game regardless.
Yeah normally I don't mind that much but the thing is he is regularly referred as a "handsome young man" when he's not that young or handsome and has the hot boss lady falling for him (a married guy) right at the start without any effort. It's just hard for us to pretend a bang average guy being a sexy pimp, at least other generic mcs have either looks, body or dong but Willy has none, not even a decent dong befitting of his name.

I understand and respect your opinion about Willy. However... Having low patrons is really not about his look it's mostly about that most of porn-gamers (or whatever we would call people who plays almost exclusively porn games) are not really used to actual gameplay. Most of reviews that are bad mention things like " walking on scene does not make it interesting" and similar. They also hate puzzles as well. This is why I still don't have many patrons atm with my new game EON even all MC are super hot (4 of them) and graphics and animations are much better then in Willy. People again complain about "walking is boring" and puzzles are I guess way too hard for average player... My guess is that people who like to play porn game are looking for "fast fap" games usually and my game do have actual gameplay... Willy was maybe "basic" p'n'c gameplay but EON is already much more complex even in version 0.04. I love to create games for actual adults that will appreciate funny situations and be rewarded by sex scenes after doing some quests or puzzles... I know I did not "hit to center" with this genre but it was never my intention to do so. If I wanted to become rich overnight I would create yet another VN with generic MC having snake instead of dick... I am sure with my skills to animate everything it would draw more attention then my current games. But I do games like Willy, and especially EON cause I love doing it. I enjoy actual gameplay, exploring, crafting, doing puzzles and then for reward get sex scene. I mean you could blame me for getting "off" standards for porn games but my thoughts are there should be every genre with porn... Shooter, rpg, adventures etc... It would be nice to be able to choose any sort of gameplay we can when searching for "porn games". Unfortunately those are rare and most of devs do make generic VN (not saying they are all bad) but they are usually all same and sometimes even using same default daz3d characters...
Appreciate for the response. I don't know about others but what I don't get is this game should be preferable to them than many VN games with walls of text and very few sex scenes which mostly occurs at the end. Your game actually has sex scenes occurring very early (as soon as you get the gold card) compared to most other games. Icstor's early games (like Milf's control and IS 2) and NLT's games are more tedious adventure games and yet they made them very successful financially.
I mean most would agree that your game is better in many aspects than a similar game like "The Twist" yet there is a substantial patreon different between both. So I don't really understand anymore what the problem is if such a high-rated game is having low pateron support when similar (and worse) games are doing better financially.
I liked the fact that Willie was an average guy with a normal sized cock. He was self deprecating to those facts as well. Frankly, the young guy with a huge dick got very tiresome for me playing these types of games. An average looking guy getting hot women is more of a fantasy that I can enjoy than pretending I'm some hot stud MC with all his brains in his dick. Though Willie's talking dick was nice comic relief.
There's a lot of walking around with Treasure of Nadia as well. The big difference is the world is smaller and your character has blazing speed so the amount of time spent is minimum. For Willie the walking is rather slow (even on the speedier mode) and that could be a factor in the complaints and willingness to support. Also, this is a rather large game in file size and updating seems rather tricky to get it right.
Puzzles can add to the fun, depends how it is done and not everyone is good at them so it's mixed bag for people. The walk through is very helpful when stuck, though.

Walk can be avoided by right clicking and I even added 0 as "walk hack" so Willy teleport to any object if player chose to do so. Problem here is that none of this players ever read control screen so they still claim" walking is slow and scenes are huige to walk, takes 30 sec to walk to other side of scene" and with simple right click on exit it would teleport Willy there... Same issue (with not reading controls) happens with my new game EON. Complains like: There are no hints in game, how can I do this or that... yet... in EON there is full quest screen with explanation and there is hints on every scene when holding space bar (in Willy that is B) but again... no one want to read controls before they make bad review about "bad game mechanics without any hints"

There is a thing where one may actually legally buy patron followers... And there is an actual patrons to buy as well if you look on web deeper. When you have some money to start with and invest, you could actually buy patrons at start. That is proven to "boost" your popularity at begin and gain even more patrons. Then later you just remove "paid" patrons little by little until you are happy with patron numbers you have... I never did any of these ever... All patrons that I have are actual humans that like my game
File size indeed maybe a bit problematic especially if you have slow or limited access. I think torrent is the best way to download this game but don't know why the OP hasn't updated the torrent (stuck at 0.51) so I have to google and find it manually.
Also one thing I noticed is that this game is quite memory intensive for some reason (8GB is not enough unless you did a lot of tweaking to disable background tasks) as opposed to other games which don't normally go over 50% usage.

Willy is free for everyone even on my patreon page... I am guessing mods here don't pay a lot attention to small games like mine. You can find torrent link there and also there is official AOWD page with all updates as well so one did not really need to download whole game over and over again... There is a difference with this site and my patreon only cause I tell all this to people there... Yet here uploaders don't really say that there is updater only files, walkthrough or similar. Lack of info also may lead to frustrations but I guess that is how "life" is going for less popular games. Here is link for updaters only for Willy D:

Well, unless I'm an idiot looking at the control page showed that 0 was a toggle and it never worked for me. Pressing 0 didn't do anything. I even tried O and that just brought up the control page. Walking never bothered me, though, so it didn't affect my enjoyment. Hi guys, for me it's not possible to zoom in/out the dolls in the collections? I can see there is the options, but it's not working. Perhaps there is a solution for it. Thanks a lot

Not in 1.0 version cause I migrated whole game from older to latest engine version and some scripts have changed so that option is not working in 1.0 I hope I will find solution to fix that in some of upcoming updates. I am working one one huge update 1.1 that will fix majority of bugs and add a lot of more side story content and animations. But after that there could be multiple lil bug fixes as well cause I really want to polish this game as much as I can. 1.1 update should be at some point this year and if I fid way to fix zoom in dolls bug as well I surely will

If you read this on my patreon page it refers to EON game not Willy D... Willy works on potato laptops with 4GB of ram just fine but would recommend at least 8 anyway. EON is tho much bigger game even now in 0.04 version... Each character has many "random" animations that may play by chance while we are interacting with them or just being on same scene where NPC's are... And there are much more background animations in total then it was case in Willy D game
