Pretty good update ty. Love all the changes except the hair, old hair looked good and I didn't notice any performance issues, maybe leave the choice up to us in settings ? Or is that too complicated for development ?

Possible to have both, but more work. For now I'd prefer to focus on improving the look of the card hair. The strand-based hair was by far the biggest performance hit previously according to profiling results, the performance boost of using cards instead is actually very significant, but like I said earlier it's offset by some of the new stuff I added. Hair cards can look quite good, even comparable to groom strand hair if done well, for example check this out:

But of course I don't have access to world-class hair designers proficient in Zbrush/Maya/Substance painter. I'll have to settle for shortcut solutions.
At the same time though Epic has been consistently updating groom hair with each UE version. This, along with RHI parallelization included in UE 5.4, which gives a boost to render thread performance, might make it conceivable to use strand-based hair in realtime in the future.
