And some general tips
-You are usually faster than all the girls so just outrun them, that being said keep in mind your stamina.
-Audio cues are important, if you enter a room, hide and a girl enters shortly after you can hear when she leaves with the door opening. You can also hear the footsteps of most girls.
-Keep in mind that when a girl leaves a room she is still outside, so be careful when you exit.
-Don't stay near doors or stair because a girl can enter at any moment. THAT BEING SAID, do stay near the entrances if Mary is attacking you.
-There is no reason to keep your flashlight off, most of the time you will be able to find a battery. Batteries usually last around the hour.
-Every hour that passes is a checkpoint and every time a new hour starts all items reset.
-The reason I told you to hoard on health items is because sometimes health restores won't spawn between hours. So keeping what you can is useful
-Hasshaku-sama is the hottest one and there is no shame on losing on purpose to her.
Do you know about the red circle that looks like a summoning circle in Room 2B-C do?

What is the objective of the game? If it's just survive until X time then can't I just stay hidden in a locker for those X in-game hours? Are the notes important or are they just optional hints?
Also I think during the 5th hour Hanako will start banging you if you stay in a hiding spot (even in the box) long enough so you can't just camp that hour

is the horror element supposed to be the dark theme, some scary music or some jumpscare? this one look interesting but I am afraid of horror so as long as there is no jumpscare I think I can cope with it

In terms of horror this game is harmless. no screams, no jumpscares. only the adrenaline rush of getting chased by someone. outside of that, the girls are all really nice to you.

Its abit late to reply, but nah. The game isn't scary. Its just Adrenaline Rushing when it comes to outrunning the Ghosts and Legends. It is abit like Dead by Daylight if you heard of it.

Basically you have to counter the monsters according to their legends method. Also its easy, if you know their real life methods, since its pretty much similar here.

Girl Guides:

  1. Hanako-San (The Main Girl, with the 'Red and White Dress') is the Toilet Ghost aka Japanese Legend which is the whole obj. of this game. She is an Anti-Camper/Hider. She will attack you if you spam hiding spots such as Toilets, Portables and etc. To counter her is simple, stop spam hiding or camping in a hiding spot.

5th Hour Mechanic : She will have a percentage of randomly appearing often in spots when you hide there. Its not common, but her gimmick is to stop unnecessary hiding and giving boom 'its me' , you got punished vibes.

  2. Angel Statue (aka 'The Weeping Angel' from 'Doctor Who') is an Extra-terrestrial Monster that appears in random locations. You hear a soft scratching noise when she's near. Its directional. Just face the direction and hear a Heartbeat go Louder or Softer. Louder is Near, Softer is Further. You can outrun her, but you need to look back from time to time since she is capable of shift teleporting.

    5th Hour
Mechanic : She appears more often, and if you are too near to her, she will get a jump on you. Facing away from her for a second, will cause her to shift slowly nearer and nearer to you in super speed

  3. Kuchisake-Onna (aka 'The Slit-Mouthed Woman, Scissors, Mask and Red Trenchcoat') is a Japanese Legend that appears in random locations. She will be loudly heard with a sprinting sound from a certain direction. To counter her, just Outrun her the Opposite direction or Use a Hiding Spot/Portable Box.

5th Hour Mechanic : She just appears more and runs slightly faster. Nothing else.

  4. Mary ('Mary Sue, The Playful Doll') is a Horror Legend that pops out of nowhere, notifies globally her arrival (Gameplay : Through The Red Bold Text) on where she is currently. To counter this, just keep switching floors and careful for level changes. She is the STRONGEST out of all the monsters, due to her whole Shutdown Room Mechanic. If she is in your level, get out of it ASAP, always be near a staircase. She's the Attention-Getter, once shes in play, everything has to be in her rules.

5th Hour Mechanic : Appears More and Moves from Hallway to Hallway faster. tonyhawksunnyd says important note for mary is that her third and final movement is always to the room you are currently in (in my experience, at least!), so you can switch rooms as soon as the dialogue for it pops up. Thanks for the Info!

  5. The Girl in The Painting ('The Looking Painting') is a Horror Myth that introduces herself by making a dragging noise as she moves from a direction. She cancels the area you wish to go. Enter a room or just Go The Opposite direction as she is heading to you.

5th Hour Mechanic : Drags herself faster to you. Might as well keep a spare Time Stop Watch when there are multiple of them.

  6. Shadow Girl (Once-Been Shadow, Your Shadow) is a Depression Poem Story ghost. She will creep behind you very slowly. You need to hear a soft whoosh sound. You can Shine Your Flashlight on the Puddle she comes with to slow her down. Then just Outrun her from room to room or level to level until she dissapears.

    5th Hour
Mechanic : She will chase you slightly longer and shining a flashlight on the puddle wouldn't do much. Like the others coming from the other side, Keep a Spare Time Stop Watch.

  7. Traffic-Girl (Red Light, Green Light) is a Childhood Nostalgia Game . She will Jumpscare you with a sudden Whistle and a Pop-Up by either of the sides. She is the most ANNOYING out of all the monsters, ironically the most SCARIEST (Actually Jumpscares sometimes). Pretty simple, Green to Move and Red to Stop. You can pick up things, use items and read Memos while she's Red but Moving Through Rooms, Hallways, or Hiding Spots will count as movement.

5th Hour Mechanic : She will appear more often. Gets super annoying when other monsters are in play, even with Mary. KEEP A SPARE TIME STOP WATCH!

  8. Jiang-Shi (Hopping Vampire) is a Chinese Myth . She will be hopping around, you can hear a Thump~ thump~ noise when she's Near. She will inevitably keep up to you, even with her snail paced movement. To counter her, try to find a Talisman which will start spawning when she introduces herself.

5th Hour Mechanic : None, probably as a balanced change or forgotten. Increasing her hopping speed and reducing talisman changes would have been interesting. Or perhaps an Enraged Mode where she spawns without the talisman and starts aggressively chasing you would have been interesting.

  9. The Pianist ('Self-Playing Piano In the Dark') is a Horror Movie Trope . You will start hearing her play the piano between floors. Follow the ambient music playing and reach towards her. She can be in any room, including bathrooms (ironically enough). Disrupt her playing by interacting and run away . If you don't stop her playing before the tune runs out, she will instantly take your life state wherever you are.

5th Hour Mechanic : None. Would have been interesting if she played like faster, or frantically, perhaps showing a sign of frustration or musician's dilemma.

  10. Hasshaku-sama ('The Tall Lady in a Sundress and Big Hat') is a Japanese Legend . She will Hop Around as a manga style notification will appear with Po~ Po~. Just run away from her. Don't hide in the same room as her for too long, as she has a Charm Debuff, which will force you out and you will slowly go towards her.

5th Hour Mechanic : Charming is stronger and appears faster when going to a room.

So apparently I think that the shadow girl is somewhat related to the protagonist maybe she knew him already like she could be his sister or cousin ? coz they both have almost the same looks !

EDIT :- If you looks close at the shadow girl face you can see her having those white bandage stuff on her face just like the protagonist
