Part of the issue is that the abandoned tag is inconsistently used and relies on individual forum mods to apply it. So, they have to know it's abandoned / how long since an update, what counts as an update (sometimes news posts count, sometimes not), and so on. It's likely a pain to try and track literally dozens or hundreds of threads for if it counts as abandoned.

wouldnt botter as the game is dead, as the devs have no desire to pick it up and contuine it as it was to much hassel.

From what I am seing in their Patreon, for months they have been writing updates only about their other VN, Noemi’s Toscana Rebirth. I did not see if Agent of Heels is officially abandoned but it really feels that way, unless there is something in the post I cannot read.

This VN did not reach a wide audience despite the good graphics, I blame the horrible User Interface for that. It had been a long time since I played this, but I remember being a nightmare to play. In Renpy it would have been much better.

I agree with this so much. Why did they use Unity when Renpy has all the features they needed
