I don't think in this case it matters that people are giving him money, because he didn't want to open a Patreon page to begin with. His fans wanted to support him and that's why he made a Patreon. And those fans would've already known that Grim does not develop quickly and doesn't provide updates often.But a simple monthly status update isn't too much to ask to let the people giving him money that he isn't dead on the street somewhere or just stopping work.
I'd also like to see more frequent updates, but frankly I'm happy that he provides previews on Patreon at all.
