Haven't played this since v29 but pretty sure v35 makes the Hammer for the Forge quest unobtainable. That means you can't progress to the forest/cave area through the large gate. This update also seems to have broken seeing the monster animations from the redhead in the stable. Maybe I'm missing something. Everything still feels very Proof of Concept like in its implementation.

how do i trigger the h-scenes with the monsters?... or does this game not have any?.

There are monster scenes but I'm not sure how to view them in the latest patch anymore. Valerie, the redhead in the barn used to have a menu you could access when you talked to her to see all the scenes for the monsters you defeated. In v35, I am unable to speak to her again after the initial conversation.
I've scene the h-scenes but is the gameplay good? It's a shame they abandoned CougarX so I hope this goes well.
You have to go the bedrooms at specific times when the couples are "sleeping". I forget when exactly. Maybe at 12:00 AM midnight. Then there's a short period of time that if you go their rooms, you will see the scenes play out.
You're not missing much there though lol.
For the monster scenes, I think they're with one of the merchants now. Forget who, one of the NPCs outside that you talk to.

I wish it would get a reason to play it, as it stands its just a senseless and insufferable drag, because you dont even get the scenes by playing it.
welp the games gonna fail not because it's so bad, because peoples want all it gobble up themselves and don't want any advertisement anywhere for others to support him or anything , the dev doesn't care much well his Patreon salty cause the game is here where people can see and find out and know and learn and can support it with reviews even if they can't pay for it. but they don't want it.
To be honest the games still in a pretty bad state right now. I managed to find v37.0 on some other sites through Google. The hammer quest is fixed now so you can progress again through the large gate to the forest/cave area again. You can still apparently get stuck out of bounds on the hills of that area though. I still don't know how to trigger the monster sex animations in the new versions. It looks like they gated it behind a different NPC's fetch quest and you're supposed to send her out to capture and put a collar on different monsters. I've sent her out but nothing happened and I'm not sure if its implemented yet. The monster sex animations were much easier to see in the older versions like v29.
Its hard to tell whats different from 6 months ago other than the MC has a blue trail, theres a few more rudimentary quests, and theres booming music now in the monster sections. Music which can bug out if you die and rez at the save point so theres 2 versions of it playing overlapping each other(possibly more if you keep dying and rezzing, I had to mute and finish the section as fast as possible because it was terribly loud). In his latest Patreon news, hes talked about medical issues hes experiencing so I'm not expecting any great strides in the game soon. I want to like this game, but its frustrating to play at this point and needs a ton of work.

At this point the game is failing more to be a porn game than anything else, and the changes purely mechanical then without actual porn updates. It's so negligible at this point that even after a year when I came back almost nothing changed other than the blue trail from npc like u said and little level design.
I have very less hope for this at this point

I was about to back this game on Patreon but thank God I came here first. 1 year with no significant progress is a big red flag for me.

Yeah, I thought it was the wrong build at first too but it's definitely newer than v35 as it still contains the one Santa Hat mob that drops the Christmas Tree weapon. Also seems to match the description of the patch notes I found on the file sites:
