Ancient bug, the task took place on day 2 or 3, but didn't register properly.
The only way to get rid of it is either by restarting the game and hoping that this time the action will register or by manually setting the task as finished through the console. Someone listed the name in the forum, but you have to search for it. Don't have a link.

That bug has been fixed since at lease Version 0.96b,
Did a fresh-start with that version and had no problem completing that task,

New month is here and that means it’s time for some development news. In May we finished over half the scenes for the next update, so we’re on a good track for release this month. We still have a few scenes with Kate that we want to show you, so you can expect to see her, but there will be scenes with one more character. She didn’t get much content lately, so we will change that.

Sometimes I hate how good the characters and art look because it reminds me that the dev is doing nothing with them. Also, mentioning the character that’s getting content hasn’t gotten any content lately means that we are going to get something with Rei or some shit.
