I really think the developers should be including things like " oh and there is a story for Eva it can be shocking for the others because she cheated on the MC" coz man that shit traumatized me very bad, now I won't be the same... So please developers remember to include in the developer notes if the game is tugged cheating try to warn us or at least me as I can't speak for everyone else as I understand there are people who enjoy that shit. But for me, I don't play these games just for fun, I take the story as it's me so I get all the emotions of the game. And don't enjoy the sharing... So it will be much appreciated if the developers where to consider this. It would really help, coz after that story with Eva damn I won't stop thinking about it any time soon. It fucked me up pretty good

And no, I don't remember any dialog on completely blank black background at all.
Do any videos in this game work for you at all?
You haven't muted sound, have you? I'm not sure if this is still the case, but in the past Ren'Py disabled video playback when sound was completely muted.

Unless this is the case, what OS are you running the game on and have you played Ren'Py games on it before?

I get this sometimes with some ren'py games (also had it with Amnesia). No idea why but I usually just download the latest ren'py and put the game's folder (not only the "game" folder but the whole thing) in the ren'py folder and start the ren'py and then the game with it. Usually works.

That's a weird thing to do. It might be it given the PC I'm temporary using has sound problem, but I didn't have any issues with other RenPy games, so that's why this confused me

Friends, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for being there for me — for being there for us — throughout this challenging year of 2026.

This year turned out to be a turning point for the game and an important one for me personally. Together with the team, we essentially rebuilt the game from the ground up, improving the visuals, the story, and the gameplay. None of us knew how you would receive the remaster, and your reaction meant a great deal to us. Thankfully, everything went well — though, as they say, there is always room for improvement.

Right now, I’m fully confident that the quality of our visuals can rival that of many other developers, and we have a solid foundation laid out for the next year — or even two. Our main challenge at the moment is the regularity and scope of updates, and addressing this issue is something I plan to dedicate the entire coming year to. But that’s a topic for another time.
In the new year, I wish you more warmth, peace, and joy. I sincerely wish you abundance and prosperity, success for you and your families. May your most cherished wishes come true easily and with joy.

After playing the game (again), I was surprised by the content cuts. I remember there was an aunt and a cousin of the main character; I don't know if they removed them temporarily or permanently.
I have to say that it seems easier to translate now (I have the Spanish patch) than before, and it's also clearer what you have to do at each stage.

Yes, set your search settings in your user profile to "most recent". Then search game and version number so, Amnesia v0.105 compressed, or compressed win, compressed mac, etc, not just "compressed". You will still need to look through posts unless you use game name plus version number.

I just tested the game for the mute option to be sure and it actually doesn't seem to be an issue for this newer version of Ren'Py any more, videos are still playing without sound enabled. So you can forget about this possible issue.

What OS are you running on that PC? It's a critical question, not just curiosity.

Windows 10 and 11 have the webm decoder installed by default and Ren'Py should be able to play webm videos without any issues.
Any older Windows and you need to install the webm decoder by yourself:

On Windows 10 and 11, if the videos aren't playing, the codec package may also be uninstalled or corrupted.

I think, in Windows 10 and 11 webm is likely installed with the "Web Media Extensions" package from the MS Store

But I'm not completely sure about this. It was installed on my Windows 11 by default and its description says that it adds support for Ogg, Vorbis and Theora encoded content, but this article sheds a little more light on it:

If you are using Windows 10 or 11, you can just open Microsoft Store and make sure that "Web Media Extensions" package is installed. I'd also recommend installing WebP image extension, HEIF image extension, AV1 Video extension and MPEG2 video extension in case they aren't installed yet. They are all free, no cost.

Old Macs don't support webm, either. But the codec can be installed via a third party repository for Macs. I can look it up in case you have a Mac. I've recommended it to a couple of old Mac users before and it worked just fine.

On Linux it may just be a matter of installing a missing package. Depends on distribution.

Android devices that aren't too old to run the OS and games on it are obviously already new enough systems to have webm support installed by default.
