Look, I guess it's possible Suzune got raped by Kanemichi in the time we don't see her, but by the way everyone is relatively safe in the good ending, I strongly doubt that was the writer's intention. Also, let's be honest, Suzune agreeing to Kanemichi's rape is definitely the dumbest choice in the game, she has no good reason to agree, or even trust Kanemichi's obvious bullshit. Yeah, it's possible she got raped, and then defeated Kanemichi, but that happens nowhere in the story, nor is it hinted at, leading me to believe Suzune defeated Kanemichi without much happening. Now I will admit, the time Suzune takes to get back to the main storyline is suspiciously long, but I feel like it's more lazy writing than intentional. But, hey, if your perverted mind wants to believe the worst happened to Suzune while she's offscreen, let your imagination go wild. XD

Suzune doesn't have happy ending, the only happy ending is Yuri's route, but Suzune sometime still appear in Yuri's route, also in her happy ending.

Do you hold down the skip dialogue button and "fish" for scenes? Do you read every single piece of dialogue?
I'm curious because, I'm trying to gain a sense of what makes these games appealing. I enjoy reading myself, but not "novels", where its just assloads of backstory, exposition, or needless banter/dialogue. I also enjoy walking a character around in an actual world, so I'm genuinely trying to figure out how people truly enjoy a game like this.

Yuri gets tentacle eggs implanted in every hole she has, and it's later said she got pregnant, but you don't see it.
Not quite sure what pregnant means in this case, either she's constantly getting egged or it's an actual pregnancy.
It instead cuts to Suzune being abused by different demons, and pregnant and mind broken in the last scene.
For some they like reading a book so they are used to VN with minimal to no gameplay, I'm also the same as you that I prefer that there is gameplay attached to the "game" (no matter how basic/ cookie cutter the gameplay is, better gameplay is a plus). When it comes to Hentai VNs I mostly just skip and fish for scenes and maybe read the scenes if the kink is to my liking/skip if it does not appeal to me. Compared to h games with gameplay you could immerse yourself in the game aspect (action, etc) instead of just reading large wall of texts. Probably something to do with older people (where books are more common when they were young/growing), and younger people (used to different mediums of entertainment/art and books are less common/popular than videos, games, movies when narrating a story).
Another aspect is the porn aspect, most people play H games to get off, they usually don't care much about the story specially VNs with large number of text/words (mucho texto). Compare that to H games with large wall of texts (exposition, lore drop, etc) but with GAMEPLAY wherein you can get much more immersed in the world setting but "actively" participate in that world in whatever minimal fashion.
Examples of HVN with gameplay Evenicle, How to build a magnificent kingdom, etc. The gameplay does not need to be outstanding but immersive/fun enough to not be tedious/ break the monotony of reading. Or Normal VN with gameplay like FGO/ most gacha games.
While comparing Normal Non H VN and HVN, normal non H VN usually have better storytelling/ world setting (FSN, Stein's Gate, etc). Compared to HVN where the plot is mostly = Girl gets fcked in more ways than one, so usually the story in HVN are not worth remembering/ not memorable enough or they are badly written. There are some BANGER/good HVNs stories though but they are diamonds burried in piles of NUKIGE (generic wank off VNs).
Of course the most appealing or main point from vn with type like this is the h-scene, but story is crucial because it make the scene become live. I only skip for the part that i already read and some text that doesn't necessary.
I knew some people don't like vn because its not different from a story book with drawing but yeah thats what we enjoying, the story and the drawing.
If you don't like vn game you can playing rpgm game, you can control your character freely
I don't like visual novel game, honesty. I hate reading text book, however I enjoy comic book (manga). Even though I don't like it but visual novel game have some elements that a text book never can have:
Pictures, the most important, even though some text book also have picture but that's no where enough to enjoy. Especially the progress in one scene, the character get binding -> tearing clothes -> foreplay -> insert -> cumming...
Voice, that make the scene more enjoyable, some visual novel game not have voice even though the art is so nice and it's really disappointed.
Choice matter, even though you doesn't have much control in visual novel but you still have ability to lead the story to the route you want, it's similar as you're playing a puzzle or a detective game.

Its an estimation on reading on all route, but your reading speed can change a lot.
I read until I'm bored, then start skipping.
The better the story, the less I skip. I got through multiple routes of this VN but I still skipped the vast majority of routes (and more importantly: skipped the sex scenes I'm not very interested in).
We all have our own fetishes and I'm comfortable saying that some crap just doesn't appeal to me. So skip-skip-skip everything I don't like.
