LiL inspired, sign me upYes, this game is inspired by LiL, majority story-driven, and shares a similar structure in the way it is played.
What I want is for the MC to not have any type of romantic relationship or sex scene with the lesbian LIs.It's pretty clear who the LI is, don't worry.
You'll have the option to view lesbian scenes, but they'll be skippable for those who don't want to see them.
The psychological horror elements aren't particularly present - this is, at heart, a slice-of-life story, with occasional weirdness. Are psychology and horror very present in the game?

What do you mean about this? I haven't checked out LiL since halfway through C3 so haven't seen new stuff so I'm not in the loopi think this is the game that Selebus was bitching about in the recent LIL update. I remember seeing some whine about a game like LIL, while i was fast forwarding his edge-lord, emo rambling text, trying to get to actual meaningful story. To be fair, i didn't really read it, a wise woman once said "ain't nobody got time for that"
But this game looks really good, i'll give it a shot!
i'd have to scan through the recent updates, but Sel went off in game about a game that "copied LIL and how it's easy to be un-orginal..." i can't remember the exact text, but that was the jist of it. It was clear he shitting on some game that was very similar to LIL. I'll go ask in the LiL thread lol, someone will know what the text was. What do you mean about this? But thanks dude! Hope you enjoy! )
I've never started the game because psychological horror tends to kill any interest I have in any game. If it's something very little present in the game, maybe I would dare to try it.The psychological horror elements aren't particularly present - this is, at heart, a slice-of-life story, with occasional weirdness.
Okay, anything that can reduce the amount of lesbian scenes that appear in my game is good. And there'll be the option to not pursue a romantic relationship too
I haven't started Another World yet so I don't know similarities to LiL, if any, but I believe Sel was taking shots at Lost in You. There are alot of things that are taken from LiL. The menus, lust system etc are exactly like LiL, same with the sandboxing of the game. Some of LiY characters are very similar to LiL characters in personality down to their quirks (example Maya in LiL is a Tsun that berates the MC, loves watermelon and eats inhumanly fast, Kurumi in LiY is a tsun that berates the MC, that loves donuts and also eats inhumanly fast). The music thing IMO is meh. Plenty of VN's on here and elsewhere use the same license free soundtracks. But either way. I enjoy both games lol.i'd have to scan through the recent updates, but Sel went off in game about a game that "copied LIL and how it's easy to be un-orginal..." i can't remember the exact text, but that was the jist of it. Yeah i didn't remember the exact text of Sel's 4th wall breaking rant. Definitely, he was not referring to Another World. Ah, I see - Lost in You has been on my to-play list for a little while, so I should probably get around to it soon.I haven't started Another World yet so I don't know similarities to LiL, if any, but I believe Sel was taking shots at Lost in You. You should definitely play it. Rip off or inspired, I thoroughly enjoy the game and think its worth the try. I don't put much credit into most things Sel complains about. For the reasons you stated and also the fact your using Koikatsu. Its not like you rendered everything from scratch. But biggest reason, Sel seems a little full of himself.Ah, I see - Lost in You has been on my to-play list for a little while, so I should probably get around to it soon.
I think Sel's claim is relatively baseless all things considered. LiL is a harem-based eroge vn set in an isekai world - which is a pretty far reach to call an original concept in origin, and inspiration is clearly taken from a variety of different games. I guess I'd have to Play Lost in You to see if it's inspired, or a clear knock-off. Some of the character-specific quirks you were mentioning, I get a little more, though.
Nice - glad you're liking it so far! I spent about 3 months cumulatively designing all the characters and have so many older versions of them all. I've also paid close attention to getting renders right - and I've made lots of progress in my rendering skills since the first release - you'll probably see it later in the gameYou should definitely play it. But back on topic with Another World, I did start it last night and immediately Impressed with just loading the game up.
1. Thank you for including a dark mode
2. Characters have a nice look to them, not like some Koi based games where little to no effort were put into the renders like they were just made in character creator and just pasted into a back drop. I not sure exactly how to explain it but the colors aren't overly vibrant, no shadows or use of lighting besides fully bright or dim. Looks like way more effort were put into the looks of the game. That really helps with mood and atmosphere in koi games IMO.
Cant really say much else, Ive only just got back to school (in game) and last characters meet was the trio of Kasu, Nia and Ami.
Random question, how to I activate autotext? I don't see a button for it on the textbox.
I have LiL in ignored. I stopped playing LiY because the extraordinarily depressive MC made it completely unrewarding to play.i think this is the game that Selebus was bitching about in the recent LIL update. Ah - is it another 'life is woe' sort of deal? The whole thing kinda gave off 'im 14 and im depressed' sort of vibes in LiL most of the time - probably not my favourite tropeI have LiL in ignored. I left LiL because of a mix of "I don't like the MC" and "too much weird psychological shit that just made me angry." LiY's MC is clearly depressed and throughout the begining of the game he gives the impression that he is determined to do everything in his hands to continue his depression and amplify it as much as he can. I can't say that I find it especially gratifying.Ah - is it another 'life is woe' sort of deal? I'm pretty sure LiL hasn't gotten any better since I quit. On the other hand, I don't know if LiY's MC has overcome his depression or at least improved it. With a more normal MC it would be a pretty entertaining game, so I hope that at some point the Dev improves the MC's behavior and puts aside all that depression, which doesn't help at all to enjoy the game.Deliberate self-sabotage to fulfil a narrative
