Yeah and i dont think that really adds much to the gameplay.
I mean what do you gain from needing to find Hera on the beach map because she decided to wander off? Your main gameplay will always be posing her for sex, what extra do you gain from playing fetch with their spawns?
Honestly the system in Secret Horse Files where each character has feelings towards specific toys, other npcs and specific actions sound more like the system you need here for immersion.
I think it's less about walk cycles and routes as it is things like idle animations more than just standing like a statue that can turn its head. there are lots of little things that can contribute to making the characters more lifelike without taking away from the core focus of the game IE sex. I don't think anybody here is expecting or demanding mini-games and QuickTime events, but some of the features I've listed in this thread previously, things like what VaM and farmD do and are capable of that are totally lacking from heat.
quick couple of examples could be:
- a greater variety of reactions to stimulus and the environment, make them more aware of the players actions and their surroundings.
- improved collision detection, soft body physics, and add a rag doll option so that characters actually have a sense of weight and presence in the game
- the aforementioned improvement in idle animations, greater variety of voice lines etc
- streamline and improve the modding and character importation process, iirc they're planning on working on that already.
and if I wanted to sit here for another hour I could probably pull a lot more out of my ass. not sure why people seem to think a desire for greater immersion means making the game like a AAA action title or some shit instead of just wanting a porn game with slightly more content, greater variety of interactivity (not just more prebaked animations), sense of presence, and polish on core mechanics.
