It's a bit awkward with the actual developer around here on F95 since it makes it weird to actually ask for new versions. Since this is a pirating site after all. >_>

Hello!

I actually give out free versions of the newest updates if people are helping me find bugs and giving a lot of critiques/feedback about different aspects of the game since they are definitely helping with the development. I try to help out people that are actively trying to help me. And although, I can't really stop anyone from, ya know, pirating---it does hurt a developer in a financial way which makes it harder to commission pictures/music or support their families etc. I do ask that if you do pirate, that you at least help out with reporting bugs and/or reporting feedback etc. If you did, then you wouldn't need to pirate since I would be providing you with the newest versions xD

you had me at breast expansion and lost me at a text based game....
Well, there will be a character viewer in the future :) You should give some text adventures a shot. You never know which ones will grab your attention and pull you into an immersive story. Give it a try and lemme know what you think. ^_^

Its seems that while the name OP post updated, the downloads did not. It says the public version is on 0.97 but when we go to download, 0.96 is the file name.

I'll check it out. I think the public demo is ....v0.96D ....while the most current version is v0.98B. I'll check it out and fix it though. The public demo is getting updated on the 15th of September too and that'll be the most current version of the game. Thanks for the catch, it's much appreciated!

So the "game" is wander around a house and thats it? Thats awfully boring, I can talk to a woman goblin and I can talk to a male goblin and thats the game. Rold wont progress past the first time I talk to him and I can flirt with the female for eternity and nothing happens also Rold will just continue to hate and get annoyed with me no matter what I do. A walkthrough for new players would be super helpful, otherwise it feels like a really boring "game". FYI I also donated and have no idea how to implement the DDI I just get the line, "I don't understand the command."

Hello! Thanks for commenting :) and I appreciate the donation as well!

The house is the tutorial zone which I'm very near to completing. It encompasses just about all of Chapter 1. You can leave the house anytime too (and not even enter it in the first place if you want to skip passed it). Once you do you can fight some zombies outside---which leads to the beginning of Chapter 2. The first five rooms of Chapter 2 are available for exploring and for testing the Rest System, the Day/Night System and the Weather System too.

In order to progress with Rold however, you'll need to visit the Orb Room in the southern half of the laboratory after you meet with him and then you can talk to him about the favor because he'll be ready for you. That leads up to the current end of Chapter 1. There are a lot of different things you can do with them and the conversations and descriptions change depending on what your dominant Mood is in the game. Sometimes it'll open up hidden options, different reactions to things, open certain paths, close certain paths etc. If you happen to start around Halloween time too (check the in-game calendar) you'll unlock a Halloween dungeon too with a bunch of legendary monsters to fight. You'll also get to speak with the Senescence (death).

All you have to do for the DDI, for example is type DDI in the field. Afterward, you just input the code you'll be given and then that'll unlock the DDI for ya! Then anytime you want to use it, you just have to type DDI. :)

If you have any other questions or anything, please let me know.

Thanks Anonynn, That was super helpful. I really want to love this game so I just wanted to be able to accomplish something to make it feel like I was progressing. So I'm going to give it another go.

Anytime! That's what I'm here for. If you need absolutely anything else or tips or pointers lemme know. I think you're onto something with the walk-through too. A couple of people throughout the development have mentioned that. Maybe I should provide another readme file with some tips and tricks for new players to use. Coincidentally, did you find the "new player" selection useful in the very beginning where it asks if you're a returning player or a new player? I'm just curious.

I'm glad you want to love the game :) Maybe it'll be easier once more content is out. Should be soon!

I've been playing Corruption of Champions quite a lot last couple of weeks, how does this compare to that?

I'm not sure. Different genre, different mechanics, different launching system, different writing styles. CoC is also a porn game first and mine is an adventure game first.

Here's what everyone else said xD

Sento.
"It is a completely different genre, its got good story so far but has much more detail put into it in each part, and has a fully different gameplay dynamics."

CloakingS.
"And there is also the point that CoC (and any other game created by the Fenoxo crew) are GUI based, where as your game is more text based (although there are buttons) which changes the game feel between the two. Either way both are fun and enjoyable games, yours (as stated above) is still in an earlier stage of development. Indeed, fen's games are more about the interaction with enemies/npcs. This one seems to be focused on full immersion, the rooms have more detail and the npcs seem to be getting the same treatment."

I would say think less CoC and more Trap Quest. Only this is wanting you to succeed, but the play style is more like TQ and less like CoC. But I also think that's a good thing. I like the play style of TQ more and I think Apocamophosis does a really good job in its mechanics. I also think that it has a very in depth story with alot of descriptive writing, the down side will be the development as I think updates will take more time in order to add content without sacrificing the writing, but its a good problem to have.

Thank you very much for such an awesome review/feedback! Don't worry though once the remaster is finished, and the rest of the items and systems are done, development should fly :D Remastering something takes more time than creating new content @_@

This might sound weird in a way, but... could I sell you on a more extensive use of commas? :winkytongue:
That said, it looks like a good base. Though I would assume people expect more content from something seemingly so close to 1.0, it is really just a number. I for one dig an approach that actually builds a world and tells a story, so I think I might just be following this a bit.
Edit: Those 4 moods basically mean you have to write the same game 4 times, doesn't it?

LOL! I'm weird about commas. Sometimes I feel like I overuse them and sometimes I don't feel like I use them enough. It's a work in progress, haha!

Ohhh, I see what you mean about the 1.0 thing. When I first started, it was my first game so I didn't know how to number versions since, ya know, I didn't know what version numbers really meant, so I was numbering versions by 5's and 10's etc with every update. In my opinion, the game is still in concept stage and is probably around version 0.40ish...maybe? But I can't just go back at this point and say....by the way, we're jumping back to v0.40 huc huc huc! Because people will get all confused.

So v0.98 for example stands for how close I am to finishing the first chapter. v1.1 to v2.0 will be Chapter 2 and so on. I'm not 100% sure how to communicate that to people though :p

Following sounds good! Thank you very much.

And yes, with the Moods. It essentially means I write each scene about 4 times each; every scene, every interaction etc. Why do you ask :D?
