What reason would an artist have to throw away a brand name they've worked years to build up? Barring something like General Butch where he literally got doxed. I don't think that was the case here.

Not everything revolves around money or a brand. She doesn't owe us an explanation. She already made her own decision.

With that being said, artists retire for many reasons. Some artists lose passion in their work, some experience constant burnouts and pressure, some just want to have a fresh start.

Not saying she doesn't have a right to retire, but people here are trying to say she isn't, and is just going to keep drawing NSFW under a new name. They're coping pretty hard.

She once said last month that she stopped the withdrawal of money on her patreon and in the next month or two or three or ∞ she wouldn't withdraw money from her patrons.

Despite closing her Patreon last 24 Feb. 2025, Derpixon said she and won't be doing NSFW content for a long time. But she's still doing SFW art.

Meaning Derpixon's more likely on hiatus than retirement.

Remember Emmabrave, who retired last 28 Aug. 2022 because she's working full time, well she made a comeback last Jan. 2024 but right now, she's on hiatus since Jan. 2025.
