Weekly check-in!
More behind-the-scenes to share. Worked on another custom setting, cleaning up objects, scaling them so setting matches size, correcting UV maps. View attachment 4974136
Wireframe view. Tedious process, carefully selecting objects and removing them, while making sure you didn't accidently select vertices of surrounding objects you don't intend to remove. But it's still fun to see something shape to what you envisioned, or close to. As I always say, I hate going to the DAZ store and not finding what I need. Instead of just working with what's available, I prefer doing the extra work to find something closer to what I wanted.
Like Aiden, it was almost like house shopping and finally finding that one that's perfect.

Once I've cleaned things up and optimized the model to play nice in DAZ. I'll be decorating and getting this new location ready for renders.
Quick heads up, there will be no DevLog next week. I'll be with my sister and her family this weekend for a dinner in our mother's memory. I'll be back in town Tuesday.
Thanks everyone and have a safe week! (And stay hydrated!)

This Dev is one of the rare few whose devlogs I read for sheer enjoyment; each major update feels like watching an entirely new world draw its first breath. It’s genuinely heartening to see someone so passionately absorbed in their own craft (y)

ps. thanks for share :coffee:

I also treated myself to this 18 GB juggernaut. I'm quite certain that this topic will become a political issue in real life in the future. The story reads, even in translation, in a relaxed, light and fluid way that is very pleasant. Unfortunately, that's also the problem: the story is predictable. Even after EP 1 or EP 2, I already knew how things would develop. What can I say, with the cliffhanger in EP 6, everything has come to pass so far. For EP 7, I can already guess what will happen next. Is that bad? Not for me, because I like where it's leading.

For me, there's still one uncertainty factor that I'm curious to see how the developer will implement: relationships. My MC flirts like crazy. So far, the MC's relationships have been purely friendships with benefits! But, what if... This VN is missing a TAG, which means it could become a problem at some point. If that's the case, I'll start a solo journey with a girl who, in my opinion, most longs for a relationship, right now!

I get the sense that this is absolutely intentional. It's an important early plot point that MC is emotionally scarred and has relationship (romantic and work) issues because of it. Because of this, he's only particularly open to mostly strings-free flirting. That said, depending on how you play, at the current state of the game paths are starting to narrow down and one playthrough can't move ahead in all the relationships at once -- there's mutual exclusivity both in the sense of "can't have two dates at one time" but also LIs starting to realize "he seems to already be moving forward with someone else." There's certainly at least one relationship path MC can be on that is much less "commitment free" than the others, and I hope and expect that MC wrestling with that if it proceeds; honestly, that should likely be a major plot point with any relationship path in the game. It is more or less settled that you'll have to narrow down to one romance path by the end of the game in almost all cases. What "almost all" means seems to be a matter of some debate.
