This is, quite simply, wrong. They're charging $10 a month to access to the game. Neither lower tier allows access to the current release version. They're charging a premium price for a product and if they aren't delivering on that, THAT is absolutely an issue. There are ZERO other situations to which I will accept entering into a social contract with a group or individual and be willing to put up with them utterly failing to consistently deliver on their side of that contract. Even if you have small children, if they fail to pick up their toys, they would be reprimanded. And you are expecting people to hold this developer LESS responsible for their failures than a small child. It's been a difficult year for him, you can't judge him for that.
His mother died, fuckface. This is, quite simply, wrong.
*idiotic ranting*
The guy's mother just passed away so yeah I would say it has been a difficult year for him. You also aren't obligated to pay him $10 a month. The people that are doing that do it because they want to support himThis is, quite simply, wrong. They're charging $10 a month to access to the game. How people here receive this game is irrelevant. If the developer chose to stagnate the updates HERE for 2-3 updates to drive people to the $10 tier of his patreon, I'd have no issue with that. (Something I have seen done by other developers here) Yet seeing that customers paying a premium are not receiving their promised service means that they just lost at least one potential customer, in myself. This is a business where he has multiple revenue streams, including Steam and patreon, so if one individual is unable to perform, they need to at least hire someone to fill that role.
I WANT to find a game/dev worthy of paying for their product. That's why there is an entire massive multi-billion dollar industry around just discussing video games. Sadly, these games just fall (often very slightly) outside of what would make them acceptable in that space.

1-his mother died and he is still grieving which is a valid reason for not working on the gameThis is, quite simply, wrong. They're charging $10 a month to access to the game. I want to point out that people are "voluntarily" contributing to any developers project. NOBODY makes them. If they do not like how things are going, they should stop contributing. Personally, I have several developers that I contribute to. However, I do not do it on a monthly basis. When they release an update that becomes available for me to download, I contribute for one month and that's it. I am sorry, but your assertions "seem" to be that of someone who "seems" to think that the world exists to provide you with something on "your" terms. The world doesn't work that way pal. 99% of these developers do this out of love for the craft itself. The support we give helps them fund it because contrary to what you may think, it isn't easy or cheap. The number 2 reason projects get abandoned is lack of financial backing. Number one though, is guys like you, that seem to think they owe you something because you toss a $10 bill their way. They stop because they simply get tired of your bullshit. For the record, the guy suffered a loss in his family. Heaven forbid you and others have any fucking compassion!!This is, quite simply, wrong. They're charging $10 a month to access to the game. Absolutely second this. I know multiple devs that have spent $10k+ on Daz assets and licenses in order to have the variety of assets they need for their full game.Id like to point out that the assets and all of the models plus backgrounds also have a certain cost, which is finaciated by the dev. hence finacial support is often that what keeps the game alive.
If you don't belive me go to the DAZ3D shop and check out what a model costs, and what the hair plus other things cost.
Well, they didn't bought much. 10k isn't much for a full game. That's what some devs spent on one release.Absolutely second this. I know multiple devs that have spent $10k+ on Daz assets and licenses in order to have the variety of assets they need for their full game.
To be clear, I meant after discounts. So it'd look more like this:Well, they didn't bought much. 10k isn't much for a full game. That's what some devs spent on one release.
digi.B said:But I'm still very thankful. Thankful to you guys. It's been a difficult year, but because of you guys. I was allowed to be with my mom and care for her. Last year she seemed healthy on the outside and this year just went down hill so very fast. But that's the ugly thing about cancer. But as I said. Because of you, I was able to take her to her appointments, grab her meds, get her meals. Take care of her best I could. A lot of you reached out when it happened and I apologize for not getting back to everyone. But I saw your messages and just want to say thank you all for getting me through this year. I really do appreciate you all.
Have yourselves a great week and please be safe.
Its not only that his mother passing is beyond understandable reason to take a break, its the fact that I cannot find a single instance where he used that as an excuse for the dev cycle, at least not directly('difficult year'), instead what I can find is him endlessly thanking everyone for the opportunity to be there for his mom, both physically and financially, which if I read between the lines with his previous job he probably couldn't have done.
that's a rendering issue. 3 things i can think of: 1. OpenGL is not rendered through your dedicated video card but the integrated one (laptops tend to have this issue). that's a beyond easy fix. just search the web how to do that for your video card. 2. drivers are waaaaay out of date. and by drivers i mean video card, vc++, directX. 3. somehow, somewhere along the way, the animation of the menu background is blocked. no real clue what can do this. i don't think your OS version can be at fault but i've been known to be wrong... and not just once.getting black screen but the options are there just can't click on them , what to do?
