Inpatience, exitation apart, I fail to see why the Update frecuency, is so important? more so if it was handled openly from the Developer, and his most closest comunity.
We're are bashing the cycles now for almost a few months, did it change anything ? improve the render quality ? the script ?
and I'm not talking about those members who voice their opinion once, to be clear here.
Update frequency is a good metric for gauging whether it's worth it to support a developer on their project. If you release an update with 2k+ renders every year it's harder to interpolate if someone still enjoys the content enough to continue support; whereas splitting that same update into 1k+ renders every 6 months gives supporters a better idea.

As for the quality of the renders and story... It's definitely one of the better projects out there. Digi.B has maintained consistency in character personalities, subplots, and quality of renders. I personally feel he's a bit too ambitious given the flashy animations and allowing player's to shape Artemis' personality, but those are entirely subjective opinions.

Regardless of how sure he stated he felt about it, the post still explicitly called it an estimate of Christmas and that they were trying to hit it. That's very different then saying Christmas is the release date and they are confident they will hit it. I always assume an estimate is going to change until it's no longer called an estimate, particularly if that estimate is months away.

Agreed that 3 months is a longer delay than I expected (I mentioned a few weeks delay in my older post). But again, never did I think it was a promise of Christmas.

You got a point, there, agreed, although, my post was written out of the sight of someone who is on/off patreon, and unconditional fan, I know that this might be a flaw in my personality, but If I enjoy something I don¡t care the frequency, and tend to feel, some critics as unfair and feel atacked.
As for forging the personality of Artemis I feel that he got the right path more so since in recent times voices, of players have been louder wanting to have more control over the personality of their Heros.

Could not have put it better myself. With the render quality warning in chapter 1 aside.

I don't think it's a flaw if you're able to enjoy a project regardless of how long a development cycle takes. It's a rather nice trait to have as it doesn't unintentionally spoil your enjoyment of a new update :)

It's a tough balancing act developers face with their projects in terms of player agency. My philosophy has always been that devs should make games they would want to play as that's when you get to experience some truly memorable moments.

I personally enjoy having the ability to shape Artemis' personality. If Digi is able to pull it off then it'd be the first example I've seen of a truly dynamic character.

I was not telling anyone how to do anything.

And you said (seems to be agreeing):

That implies criticism of the dev's ambitions and work. That implies you think he could be less ambitious, probably to get faster updates. The problem with this is that you are not a customer or a patron here, just a consumer. It's Digi's art, and he's making it the way he wants. If you want to pay him on Patreon, if you buy it on Steam, or steal if here for free, you don't get to tell the artist how to make their art.

Some devs are hacks and some devs are just looking for free money. Digi is not one of those. I feel like Artemis really rises to the level or art.

wtf is that about those "blockbuster" avn developers? Ocean, Pinkcake, Digi.B, they really drop the balls about release schedules and update times.
It seems like there is only Caribdis that does not fall into this kind of nonsense spiral
It's almost as if they are regular people who haven't done this kind of thing before and may have overestimated how long things will take, go figure....

Two devs most would put on their AVN Mount Rushmore. Just google it. Mr. Jet would be added by some probably.
Google "sarcasm".......

The "blockbuster" part is the issue I think.

I feel it's a mix of things. These projects are massive and far too ambitious for one person. They're usually using Ren'py and fucking Daz of all things. There's no real time pressure on a AVN dev because of how it's funded. They're their own boss which has upsides but also means they have no one to say maybe that's not worth it or let's do x instead. They're all choice driven which means they inevitably bloat after the early parts and each update grows bigger and bigger. The AVN audience WANTS big expansive, choice driven VNs with multiple women it's why they ever become "blockbusters".

So huge overly ambitious projects. With crap tools. No time pressure. No restraints. Audience desiring go big or go home. The project will expand considerably in workload as it goes on. It's a recipe for long dev times or burn out even presuming no milking shenanigans (and some are absolutely milking on top). I don't really see that situation changing unless AVN's become more constrained or the funding model changes to incentivize quicker updates over bigger ones.

There was an explicit date 24 Dec Christmas. I expected a delay but not a 1/4 of a year delay. Maybe i just had to much faith in digi.b of actually fulfilling what he said himself. If i was just pirated the game i probably would not give to much of fuck. I did cancel my pledge and will wait here for the update

From Digi.B's update of Sept 9, 25 ................ So, I'm estimating a Christmas release this year. I don't like projecting dates. As I've said before, it frustrates people (including myself) when a deadline is missed. So I try not to mention unless I'm sure of the date and I'll be doing my very best to try and make this a Christmas release. ................
So, you will notice the words ""estimating a Christmas release and I don't like projecting dates, along with, So I try not to mention unless I'm sure of the date" That being said, I would like to know where he said, "There was an explicit date 24 Dec Christmas ??."
It appears he stepped out of his comfort zone and estimated a date to try and appease all the asses that were complaining on a daily basis. So while I feel your pain do everyone a favor and STFU. It will be done when it is done.

I'd much rather be talking about how much I like Zelda's character or how human these characters actually are compared... anything except maybe Drifty's characters. Or about how ridiculous it is that some porn games are infinitely better written than movies, tv shows and other video games that have 9 figure budgets. We can't have those discussions though bc all any of us are thinking about is the delays, period, and it fucking sucks.

on another note. I really love this AVN, it is so lifelike with its own character and personalities. Its almost like watching a movie, almost every single "image" is animated, the story is top notch, with humor, drama, sadness and so much more emotions i cant even describe :D
I am not one who gets emotional quickly, but at this AVN I laughed my ass off and also shed some tears, because its so well written and you can empathize with it.

The only thing i find sad are the "crossroads" where you have to decide between some character -not because i want them all (ok maybe that too) but more because of the different story -outcome, experience, possibilities, scenes.

1.for example, the first crossroad between Zoe and Katy -
of course i am going with sweet sweet Katy, not for the scene but because i like her sweetness. and while she also mention something similar about Jules- i would also like the opportunity to have a chat with Zoe to find out that Jules bought the perfume with her and talks very fondly about us. it is heartwarming

2.the next "major crossrad" was the date with Zelda or Katy -
now it was harder for me to decide because i like them both but i am going with Katy, this time for the scene (the happy ending) and her blushing  :D - but i would also like to "bond" with Zelda, hear about the fact with the contract and have the possibility to video chat her before - i hatefuck Cassy and then dump her in the next dumpster

3.and then the halloween party...
of course i go with the KinKiss, because who would miss such an opportunity? :D and the scene is just too good also with the reaction from Lexi :D.. buuut this locks you out of a possible Zelda route..

4.and the last major choice was: staying with sweet Artemis and Kindra, or going to "bond" with Naomi. -
of course i am going to stay with Kindra and Artemis, to spend more time with them, to teach Artemis and because the scene was just too sweet, cute, funny, lovely, (and sex :D) and especially bath time :D -
but i would also like to have the "chance" even if it is a small chance.. but the possibility that Naomi can restore the data on the phone is something i really would like to have.. even if digi decide against it and tells the story that she couldnt restore it but its still something important.

most of the "crossroads" are optionally completely negated with the MultiMod/WT mod that adds many "view all scenes" options with proper loop-backs and setting all variables for all paths
