This is pretty painful to play. I don't consider myself awful at asteroids but the acceleration sometimes fires in reverse, which throws a lot of skill out of the window for any fast-paced players. Want to dodge that big rock? Whoops, you just reversed into a different rock.
The visuals are nice, and I think that's where Kyrieru shines the most. I'm a big fan of their pixel work.

Guy just disappears from time to time. Last activity I can find of him on social media was here almost 2 years ago, but his account shows someone at least logs in regularly so he's probably alive at least. No updates on his blog or xitter. He mentioned he had a patreon at one point but I can't find any sign of that.
