in short, this actually is a decent game. the jank and the bugs were too much for me, but it certainly is decent as it is. effort is noticeable. if most of the jank was fixed along with bugs i could see myself buying it.
if devs or anyone else is interested in a more detailed feedback, then...
putting bugs aside, the tutorial doesnt mention anything about friendship points or what they do, about what exactly makes the "new scenes" button pop, or about how to get scenes with multiple girls.
considering that the game is played akin to a roguelike, meaning deads dead, and you cant really save, i think theres just not enough room for tests while you are also trying to progress through the run. just wasnt that fun trying to bumble through unexplained stuff cause of how fast your run can end because of such an attempt to test stuff... which brings me to my next point
the "sandbox"! again, bugs aside, first, as far as i could tell, its just a glorified money cheat. thats it. luckily, eldritch moneys can buy you pretty much any combo of stats/characters/whatever, so you def can try for an attempt to figure stuff out... but with how sandbox still has you spend (now infinite) moneys on rerolls and such just to set things up, it just begs for either a save feature, or just some other way to setup things quickly.
mouseover tooltips. why cant stats and equipped items also have those? would have helped, cause i wasnt always sure what would be the maximum sanity or about items i was about to change. speaking of which...
yeah, items. got a little confused by how actual equipment and "when you buy me" (like consumables) are treated the same way by equipping them on characters, where they then stay "equipped" with essentially no effect. imo, "equipping" makes no sense here, such should just be used up and forgotten.
descriptions were a bit lacking, too. for example, one of the girls has "disables all monster abilities" skill while leading and even now im not sure what it means exactly. does it just outright disable all texts above all monsters? does it only work on the monsters the girl is fighting? felt like neither /shrug
another example would be how +15 sanity bag item description is "when you buy
me, restore 15 sanity", then pumpkins description is "when you buy
this item, give
me +1/+1
permanently", and then finally broken umbrellas description is "when you buy
this item, if
my favorite pet is cat or dog, change it to the other". yeah...
in short, descriptions could def be more clear and consistent across the board.
theres also some slight jank with the battle stage: clicking/selecting characters doesnt highlight them in any way, you also have to constantly click the orb/eye in later stages, and the animations/voices sometimes take forever to play out (for no apparent reason).
tl;dr
as i said earlier, a decent, somewhat deep and complex, but also very unpolished game.
