It's already been used in the current content of the game, it affect Amanda mindset/thought about some things, also depending of which one is higher, there is some scenes where Amanda will react differently, and if both red and black heart have equal value, then you'll have a choice to make about how she'll react.

These patches exist to reintroduce relationships that are altered due to incest restrictions from patreon etc.

In this game, he is not her son, canonically. At least as far as the story told us so far.

Patches that artificially force incest into these kinds of stories tend to collide with the plot, in this case the fact that MC knows his mother and she is an important part of said story.
Or that she thinks about getting pregnant on her own because she likes living with him.

There are games that had these forced patches, and it was always awful. Can't remember a single game where it worked.

Dunno why I wasted time on this argument, but I had some to spare.
