I've been doing a bit of research on this ntr game scene here for a while now. This would be a damn good and popular game if it wasn't NTR. It's been on the market for a year now and there are 16 paying customers on patreon. That number could multiply by maybe 10 if that cancer was gone. I'm going away.
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm working on my own updates, but I was thinking of doing a partial rewrite of this game to make it harem on my time off, but I don't think the Dev would be interested. It wouldn't take much to do it, but you can't force someone to change their minds.

ismale _Darkmage_ Good luck guys!

Edit @ june 4, 2024: seems like this post keeps generating dislikes. At the time written I wasn't fully aware how sensitive the subject discussed is to many forum members. In hindsight I should have chosen another place, form and tone of voice. I placed my original post behind a spoiler and this disclaimer/ sensitivity warning here instead, as a matter of personal reflection and to inform those interested about my change of perspective. Might prevent more readers from getting upset, I don't know ...

I really don't get why NTR is such a topic of online discussion. A piece of fiction about people having sex with someone other than their own partner: what's the big f-ing deal? Why do so many want to know beforehand whether characters will cheat on each other? Why does it has such a big impact on these players/ readers/ consumers that they should be given the opportunity to avoid it?

It has been part of poetry, literature, opera and stage plays for ages and remained the base for every soap that came to television in the past fifty plus years. Just a little drama people tend to create for the sake of amusement. With less personal impact then many of the other sexual actions that take place in contemporary pop culture, especially erotic and pornographic movies, games, comics, stories and VN's.

For example barely and questionably legal teenage protagonists heaving sex with their quasi stepparents/ landlords, their friends or family members. Way more perverted than some 'everyday cheating' I would think. Why doesn't it get questioned equally? Better yet: why can't NTR be approached with the same general consensus that seems to apply to this semi implied shota content? Or any other type of hierarchy breaching fictional construct for that matter, such as employee-boss and student-teacher relationships.

What am I missing here? Did I misinterpret the actual meaning of netorare? Because to me it looks like copy-cats making a fuss about nothing. Applying cultural context from Japanse origin to western art, coming from very different social standards. And frankly, I'm getting a little tired of this - what seems to me like - same completely pointless discussion over and over on every online social hangout like this.
I'll put it very bluntly and forward for you. In some cases, some people have experienced things in their life such as being cheated on, which can completely destroy someone depending how they cope with it.
With that in mind, some people just don't wanna deal with memories like that coming back to mind when they're trying to get a wank off, does that make sense ?
And in other cases, some people just don't fucking like it and that's that, just like how some people don't like anal, feet stuff or cum-related stuff, does that make sense ?

At least in my case, I'm immersed in the MC role and it has the same rules as real life. So I don't want my partner to fool around with other men OR women. Or all things are ruined. In the game the only option is to quit the game and delete the game, as in the game you can't just throw the bitch out of life.

In the game all family members are always number one and no one does anything to them or in any way or else the game is not played. Even if mom or sister is not LI, I don't play if they have a partner or do something with it. That also happens if there is a father in the game. The father is always dead for good reason, or otherwise not visible in the game. If the father is doing something with the mother or sisters then it's also NTR, because the father is also then the "other man" and other men are not wanted with women. Or we NTR-haters don't touch the game.

I got into the main character in the game better and deeper than in a book or a movie for example. That is, with exactly the same interest as in real life in the partners. If you can't see through the eyes of NTR-haters, then don't even start thinking or talking about it, because there is no big iron bar that we can twist it for you about how, why, in what way it pisses us off.
Thanks for your reply, it's something I can work with. Much appreciated.

Maybe it really is something I simply cannot fully relate to, this kind of immersion you describe.

It actually doesn't make that much sense to me, as your arguments could apply to any specific type of content. But REX-NEXT already gave a suiting explanation. Without reverting to unnecessary bluntness, I might add.
