That's probably the reasoning behind it. But the current difference in quality between newer scenes and older ones is not something hidden.
Still kinda sad it's butchered and not utilized somehow as a bonus ingame content. The artworks like this was the reason for me to follow this project.
Aurelia is one of the only few 18+ games that I played. I remember seeing Walnus' art back in the day (the botanist, if you know you know), and falling in love with his uniqueness (it is still pixel art, but done tastefully, with good animations too).
When I saw that he was working on a game project I was inmediately curious and started playing the early playtests. It is sad that some of his art was removed in the final version; they should have left them as some mementos of the developing project in the journal. But oh well, at least the project is finished, although not at the level we expected (it is still a good game in my opinion).
