I got as far as the Enter Your Name type screen. Despite entering English as my language, I was stuck with Japanese characters and couldn't figure out how to reach the OKAY button hidden behind it.
PageUp/PageDown to switch characters type.
Common RPGM knowledge. Sucks for the newbies, I guess, because barely a dev mentions that anymore

Anyway, here's a low-quality low-quantity low-effort TL for v1.06. Mostly the technical terms. 0% story and dialogue.
This is mostly to help alleviate the eye bleeding, puking, acute diarrhea and other symptoms of garbage MTL overdosis.
This goes under the /data folder in root, not www/. Back up your folder, obviously.

If anyone feels clever, the function related to that itty bitty tiny card text is Game_Interpreter.prototype.pluginCommandDTextPicture. Good luck with that.

Sword is simple and straightforward
Dagger is shit (IMO since it relies heavily on crit RNG)
Staff is good when you want to make sure you have remaining cost to avoid attacks
Magic Sword is broken only when you get lucky
IMO Sword > Wand & Dagger > M Sword
The sword's replicating 2-cost card (which I dubbed 'Flurry') is broken. It only needs 1 draw artifact to get into an infinite loop. They can also be replicated ad infinitum with an exploit (replay card) and a bug (quickdraw card).

'Extend' is a must with M-sword. But artifacts make or break any build anyway, no matter the weapon.

If anyone wonders about the colored Costs, they give related effects when you use colored Cost with a weapon card. Blue give free mana, Red damage bonus, etc.

Protip: Casino is winnable. Skip everything until last round, and come out a Coin millionaire :ROFLMAO:

My bad, StS player here, see below. They're called Skills. The broken 2 are:
- the follow-up/draw one. OP with Sword
- the crit/draw one. OP with dagger (supposedly, I've yet to find it) and probably M-Sword
Come to think of it the Wand, although powerful per se, is the one to less benefit from Skills. It's probably out for the infinity challenge (own record is 9 floors so far).

basically a dungeon rogue-like using cards as your typical rpg abilities, similar to Pandora's Forest
The term is "Slay The Spire"-like. I highly recommend the game, it's the first and the best of its genre. Not H but pretty adult-y.

However, this game is among the best clones. Interesting mechanics and kick-ass difficulty curve (thank H-God they dropped their silly trademark M-difficulty).
I appreciate that RR keeps innovating and getting better game after game, both technically and artistically. Not all their kinks hit home  but it's great to see there are still some devs not afraid of uncharted territories.

Cautious: this file also contains a full save so it will overwrite your current progress, keep it in mind if you don't want your progress to be gone.
Sorry, removed.
Good attempt buddy, the first error is fixed, but there's another crash after you get hit with the big heart attack.
Updated.
(Also will be traveling for a week, so someone else will need to make a patch for any new versions for a bit, I use to work out changed files)

Wand also has a card that changes every cost into blue colored ones, combine that with the card that increases max cost and "draw 2 cards" card and you'll basically doing two or three turns in one

Yes, Wand was my favorite, and is probably the most powerful for a single dungeon, with no Skill involved. But it oftens fails to prevent damage or to end a fight quickly, as it relies on Chanting high-cost cards. So it definitely falls behind for Challenge runs.

I think I managed to thoroughly break the game... Layer 10, and unsure what might get the chance to scratch me :giggle:
I should've thought about keeping Hinata away, that's a shame.

yeah... yeah, i think you'll be fine when i look at those damage numbers lol. so you avoid pretty much every combat encounter and aim for every event that you can, hoping for skill events as well as incinerators to keep your deck slim? still though, are you save scumming or just lucky? i mean, there is also that event where you get a card pack. statisticly you shoud end up with more random junk from that than you can burn at the incinerator. or am i missing something? haven't really played challenge mode yet.

This can actually get more ridiculous. M-Sword 5-cards deck:

Keeping your deck thin is the 101 of most deck games.
I actually don't F5 much, except for stoopid mistakes, when you get a Penalty card in your deck - which is a death sentence.
I go for Elites ASAP with Coins and Coin shop in mind. Buy skills hoping for a draw one, upgrade main cards. You get OP real fast when you know what you're doing.
But F5 is pretty much mandatory in Challenge. I only got to layer 9 w/o savescumming, thanks to bunnygirl casino.

that much i know but my question was how. i guess blind me found the answer though: campfires. previously i was only relying on the unreliable incinerator event to get rid of a little junk here and there. in my defense though, in campaign mode you don't see enough campfires to optimize alot, and it's also not really worth the effort when the boss is just around the corner, so i ended up defaulting to making default stuff cheaper. it also feels a bit risky to go thin when some opponents flood your deck with garbage (looking at you, fairy boss). doesn't change the fact that i never utilized the campfire for card deletion though. certainly gonna make use of that in an endless run.

someone explain to me the stir fight the ? icon is still on japanese so idk if this explain it.
"Stir" will dodge single target moves while her wings are open, but you also can't attack her when she closes them to bait you with her eyes glowing. You need to hit her with an attack that hits all enemies while her wings are open, which causes her to temporarily lose her ability to evade attacks for a couple of turns.

Are RR's other games similar in the sense of status effect/debuff gameplay? actually really loved this and would love more like it
