The good news is: I figured out how to get that conversation with Elsa (you have to invite the girls via the crystal ball the morning after the sword fight before visiting Elsa that day). The bad news is, after doing everything else, including the stuff with Martha, I invite everyone over on the last day and no one shows up. So I STILL run out of time. I don't get it. What am I missing here?

I guess you took too much time to win the swordfight... I Imagine Meridiana shows up before you have the chance to invite the girls again in the morning...
As I said it's important you don't waste too many moves to get there, try a previous save

when i have to play a game for 4 hours and cant advance the plot despite trying everything and reading the walkthroughs... then something is wrong with the game... i got past most areas i'm stuck, but i think i must have advanced too fast in certain plots and created some sort of deadlock of the whole story because certain characters are not available to talk to until you complete other plot lines etc.. basically it seems like a shit show. this game is in bad need of a walkthrough mod... and these russian translated walkthroughs just don't cut it. maybe it's better after chapter 7, but too bad i can't make it there.

right now in my game, elsa is stuck in the library - talk to her about anna, repunzel, or the book or nothing.
the classrom is done up to giving them two chocolate and the breast book... now they want an item from store.
beatrice talked to me and wants something, the store is locked because of martha? and the genie is being a bitch.
dorothy wont go on a personal quest, for some reason it wont activate and i did the whole underwear thing with her already.
nothing can be found at the lake, just a donkey and some request to find a suitable person.

so i'm dead locked. what kind of game is this? needs serious improvements.

This game is slow as fuck before chapter 7. I wouldn't recommend anyone playing those initial chapters

Check Once a Porn a Time and Conquered Hearts. That's the closest we got now, that being said, Once a Porn a Time is really good. Great balance between grind and story. Conquered Hearts is still far off, but it has potential. I don't like their art direction they took with Alice though, however, they said they'll change it to th orginal art style... eventually.
