Well... Houston, we have a problem (but I have a solution). There is a choice during a date with an LI (who I shall not spoil out of respect) that has a label jump to a label that does not yet exist. I'm going to make a "patch" for this issue since it's a "beta" anyway, and I'll present the standard notifier that I recommend a save point before it occurs.

In other words, (as has been posted numerous times) this is indeed a beta and NOT complete. I can make it all work unbroken but know that I can't/won't create content, but I can seamlessly patch it all to function properly for what is here. I've made notes so I know where all the many fixes and patches I coded are so I can check them upon the actual release whenever that occurs.

That said I'm still on the fence whether I submit the mod update for beta when I'm done. That's it, just thought I'd share the info. Regards.

Well, if nothing else it is probably good practice. Modding fubar game updates is a challenge and rising to a challenge only makes you better.

Honestly, nothing I ain't done hundreds of times before. I fix stuff constantly while working with most devs... it's part of the process tbh.

Honestly, for games as good as Bad memories, alpha and betas really shouldn't be leaked. I'd much rather wait a bit longer myself, and get the stable release with an uninterrupted experience than a release with bugs, errors and potentially missing/skipped content due to bugs and what not. Hell, no telling what'd happen to your saves on those if things gets introduced then deleted on the final release... Then again, it's one of the very games I don't mind starting from scratch, with no text skipping either.

dang search bar must be broke again... :p
it is always broken. :p

and some don't want to play with mod.

IS A LITTLE "TOO LITTLE" FOR SUCH A LONG WAITING, i HOPE WE'LL GET ANOTHER UPDATE SOON
1. don't yell.
2. do you know what beta means?
3. if you know then why the hell did you dl beta version which is meant for bug hunting?
4. if you don't then you are totally something.

I know the scene you are referencing but I had zero issue with that particular one. Attach (don't copy/paste in the post but physically attach the file) your traceback.txt and I'll figure out what wrong on your end.

Depend.
If you want to have a chance to break your saves, run in errors, get strange behaviors (like gender changing gender), and want to whine about all of that here, you can download the beta (which by definition is an unfinished and not fully tested version).
:ROFLMAO:
But if you prefer a good quality experience, is better to wait until the official release.
Usually if the saves don't work in the beta, they will not work in the bug fixed version neither. I decided to play from the start and I didn't see crutial bugs, just in one image I needed to click in ignore.

The only issue I got from this beta, is that my CPU temp would get stupid high during any animated scene.
I have the same problem, as many other players. But not only that, the animations don't run smoothly inside the game in my laptop. It seems like Renpy becomes slower when there's more content inside, I didn't have this problem in earlier versions. If I play the animations outside renpy, there's no problem. But it seems the game requires a better optimization, or at least for slower pc's (the most of the players).

Opinions recreation

What about making a poll asking if the animations run correctly, smoothly?

did rec update to renpy 8? if did then that's issue since renpy 8 uses some "tricks" which older hardware can't bend.

I don't know. It's not the only game with this problem, I played Become a Rockstar fine until the last release, where the animations stopped runly smoothly. There are games like Fashion Bussiness with bigger animations, not only in duration but in size, and they run fine. That game has animations that weigh even 40 mb each. I just checked and they use mkv instead of webm like here, maybe that format is the problem.

But it seems that Fashion Bussiness uses a renpy version from march of 2021 and this one from september of 2022 (I just checked properties, I'm not sure about it).

So, that would be the problem as you said. Is there a way to solve it?

Seriously? Arguing over what is and what isn't spoiler worthy? well at least I got a small laugh out of it.

Yes, now I remember that. It's a bug in the Beta... it is fixed in the pending SanchoMod update though. Apologies, I forgot that I sorted that already. You should be able to skip past if you prefer to continue playing unmodded though.

just ignore that, it's fixed internally.

did rec update to renpy 8?
nope.

Regarding the videos:
I'm using vp9 with high quality settings for some videos (I'm talking hdr compatibility). I don't know the exact reason behind it, but Renpy always had a problem with video decoding, so the better the video quality, the worse it gets.
Sometimes you can even notice that on high end pc's. A simple solution is higher video compression (worse quality), which I won't use for the normal release, but a compressed version will come eventually.
