I finished the last of the endings last week. I didn’t sort them into any order; I’m pretty sure once I play the game again, I might change my mind about that anyway.

I have thoughts, though.
  • I don’t really like that, after the fight-or-flight choice, there are no more choices in most of the endings. I get why; it’s complicated enough without adding even more timelines! Still, the reason I like adult visual novels is the interactivity. But I guess I can live with the fact I got to make choices in chapters 1–4.
  • I was hoping the MC would get killed by DiCaprio in one of the paths. Didn’t really care which one. Frankly, facing him alone (even with backup hiding in the shadows) was foolhardy, and it’s always lucky the MC survives—although Val, and Zenda’s bodyguards, kinda eliminated most of the risk. But I guess I didn’t absolutely have to see that.
  • The left-all-alone ending? Made me laugh my ass off. I didn’t see any point in Sadie marrying the MC; she could’ve just remained his cousin (or even sister) in WitSec; they could’ve each had their own lives and not made each other miserable. At least they weren’t miserable in the proper Sadie ending.
  • I discovered years ago that in California, where I live, marrying your first cousin is totally legal. It’s creepy as fuck; I still think of that as a red-state thing. But it’s legal in lots of states, and the full faith and credit clause in the Constitution means those marriages are therefore valid everywhere. So I already knew it wasn’t the giant hurdle Sadie thought it was. The hard part is convincing your family to accept it… unless of course there are already a bunch of incestuous marriages in there, and I guarantee you, if you look back far enough in your family tree, you’re gonna find some. (Because 200 years ago it wasn’t considered creepy. In the bible there are prominent cousin marriages, like Isaac and Rebekah, or Jacob and his wives, and Europeans regularly justified their behavior with the bible, right or wrong.) Anyway, Sadie and Shelby’s family might struggle with it, but still: Legal.
  • All the bits where Heidi’s mom flirts with the MC throughout Heidi’s ending kept making me say, “What the fuck?” Totally don’t blame Heidi’s dad for being annoyed at him, even though it’s not his fault.
  • All the babies and children looked wrong. I know; that’s not the developers’ fault; it’s DAZ. The devs did the best they could. Still, it shows a significant deficiency in DAZ’s inventory. Their artists need to start making babies! (Yes, I know how that sounds. I don’t care.)
  • On the one hand, I appreciate how the multiple-girls paths had em all get married, regardless of the United States’ existing polygamy laws. True, polygamy as often practiced is rife with abuse and predatory practices. But not all of it is; I know a Muslim family where they’re quite loving. Still, even if these are unrecognized marriages, I like em. Marriage is part of a happy ending!
  • I don’t at all like how the MC, in the Val path, cheated on Val. The woman saved his life and is the mother of his child, and even though she gave him a free pass, he still couldn’t keep his dick to himself? No; fuck that.
  • I’m not the biggest Zenda fan, but I gotta admit the fuck scenes were hot.
  • I played the Heidi ending and Athena ending before the Heidi/Athena ending, so I was a little surprised when Heidi and Athena’s dads came to the MC to threaten him if he broke their daughters’ hearts. They loved the guy before, but because it’s a throuple now they’re worried he’s just some horndog? Um… you do realize you can both be a horndog, and totally love your girl. (Or in this case, girls.) Were these guys never young?
In general though, the developers stuck the landing. Nice job!

gotta give Nicole a proper go after she left the clothes shop to work in a club.
And to most here who still don't get it, Heaven's Door will be set in an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE! The Nicole we know from BW won't be the same as Nikki from HD. Same thing applies to Maddie and Aurora, while we may have seen them in BW, those are other versions of them.

True, good clarifying. Thanks. I probably should have made a note, I was joking around, it wasn't really the same person.

good news to you and most here, unlike Bare Witness, Heaven's Door will be FULL HAREM!!!
Woohoo. Even more paths to play (I'm assuming, you can do solos, maybe throuples too, maybe you can't). When you say Full Harem, do you take everyone, or you can pick and choose who you add? That would be better, even more paths to play.

More random girls eyeballing you, I knew there was one winking at you behind Sadie's back, but I didn't look far enough through the images folder...

FWIW, I don't think he came off as an arsehole on that path. It's not a straightforward case of cheating, in fact, you might not look at it as cheating at all. It's at least a couple of years after you leave Val (because she won't uproot her life and go with you into WitSec - which I appreciated, BTW). MC hooks up with a girl a few times, but then moves on when she "catches feelings". He has no idea if, let alone when, he'll ever see Val again at this point. I could be wrong, but I think Val basically said to him to go live his life and to see new people if it came to it, as she is a realist and knew they might never see each other again, and he's still young, etc. (I could also have completely made up that last bit though, to be fair.)

This does, of course, make an assumption that it's the cheating that you refer to as being arseholery...

Thanks for the detailed response, friend. I'll play it eventually when I get the time and see for myself.
It's just I have never been a fan of forced sex scenes in these games if I'm not on the girl's path.

That's something I can definitely agree with. I played a game where I ended up unavoidably banging a MIDWF (Mom I Don't Wanna Fuck - is there an official thing for that?) and I felt like I was being raped!

The latest update is definitely worthwhile, IMO - and there are 10 or more (depending on how you look at it) other endings you can go for, while avoiding this one altogether, should you wish to.

Earlier in the game is sort of okay for me but not late into it. But yeah, I definitely will play it to see for myself it's just lately I haven't felt like playing anything and I think I need to be in the right headspace to enjoy an AVN.

All the babies and children looked wrong. I know; that’s not the developers’ fault; it’s DAZ. The devs did the best they could. Still, it shows a significant deficiency in DAZ’s inventory.
Yeah... DAZ children often look like adults that have been scaled down, things are just not quite right. I imagine the issue is in the proportions.

I played the Heidi ending and Athena ending before the Heidi/Athena ending, so I was a little surprised when Heidi and Athena’s dads came to the MC to threaten him if he broke their daughters’ hearts. Really? I think that's quite an understandable position/opinion, put yourself in their shoes and remove porn logic, it is kind of weird and could certainly seem less sincere or committed than a monogamous relationship.

Sounds more like you're just a hater of the MC. The MC can be bit of an ass, depending on your choices. Which means it's the player makin him an ass. You're also very critical of the solo paths, while basically praising the poly path. I mean you liked the fact that Heidi's dad was annoyed at the MC for somethin that wasn't/isn't his fault. That proves you're not a fan of the MC. Just my 2cents.

I haven't played the latest update yet but that stuff about Val upsets me.

Bro, you're basing your decision on the words of someone who clearly doesn't like the MC. Plus, anyone who has stated that the MC acted like an ass, it was due to their own choices. But it's your choice.
