You have some very interesting thoughts.

Of course, it could be that the pregnancy test is a flashback of Isabella or Lynette. It could even be a flashback of a woman we don't know. And why? There is speculation, theorizing, etc. that the MC has another sibling, or perhaps even multiple siblings. There are two pieces of circumstantial evidence for this. Neil insists that his son uses condoms. The reason for this should be obvious. It is all the more astonishing that in EP8 the MC misuses a condom for a water bomb named Ron and later pleasures Maya with a sperm syringe without a condom.

(There once came up a theory of BaD being a game in play. So basically he MC commits the same mistakes as his father or he is better than his father).

The very fact that Neil is so adamant about condoms suggests that he once impregnated a woman he didn't really want to impregnate. And Derek once werwähnte after Maya and the MC kissed on the campus lawn, so he would either fuck his mother, one of his sisters, and eventually Neil. That statement from Derek alone supports your theory, so Lynette's diary can't end with the MC's birth and Lynette's demise. Neil's gaps in knowledge about Lynette are well known. Now let's move on to the sisters. Yes, DPC used the higher number of sisters here. Okay, maybe just a typo, but what if it wasn't? Weird. If Derek wants to fuck Neil, I wonder if he is bisexual or maybe gay. Now some will think that he fucked Wendy and that there are pictures. Yes, there are. But Derek himself mentions that he also likes to drink a Viagra flavored smoothie. What Viagra does to a man, men should know. The bottom line is that there is a 50% chance that the MC has siblings. The question I have is how old are these siblings?

Older siblings and younger siblings:
Lynette died because in this case I see no reason why Lynette would leave Neil. The impregnation in this case occurred before Neil met Lynette or after Lynette died.

Peer siblings:
In this case, the play-within-a-play theory could apply because there are parallels. Three girlfriends.

Josy, Maya, Sage.
Josy, Maya, Jill

Bella is not there because then there can't be three girlfriends. Now, 20 years earlier, we have Lynette, Miranda, and Vivan. Neil approaches the three of them on the street. He really only means Lynette, but Miranda and Vivan are not averse either. Oops. We know Neil has had his honest share and fun. Maybe with all three girls? See the parallels between Neil and the MC. What if Bianca and the sexy black-haired girl sitting next to her in concert are the result of sex without a condom. Somehow the two have similarities with Miranda and Vivan.

By EP8, theoretically, several girls can be impregnated by the MC, and then the MC will definitely lose the girl he chose for himself. If he is faithful as a dog, this will not happen. If the MC is in the group, there is a possibility that if the MC was faithful to both of them, they will forgive it if one or both of them are pregnant by him.

Please do not take this as a fact. It is just a theory. The beauty of DPC's story is that he builds suspense and mystery that can then be explained by trivial and mundane solutions. I think this is great.

Do I want to come to the Burkes, Mona, etc.? I have a controversial theory there. What if we misjudge Stephen? What if we as players make Stephen a pig first, where the MC fucks Jade? But first to the beginning. I could imagine Stephen having a little side income like this. Family tree preservation. What I mean by that. In BaD there are families that are very careful to make sure their kids get the right partners. That should be obvious. Mona is certainly not the right choice because she doesn't mind fucking young guys for money. Quinn did the pre-selection in the case of Mona, Camila, etc. But now it may be that there are old men who have no children and/or homosexual children and thus the continuation of the family name, the family tree is endangered. And this is where the collaboration of Quinn and Stephen comes in. In my opinion, old rich guys aren't going to pay tuition just because they get to fuck a horny student once. No, there has to be more to it than that. You should also read the poster on Mona's wall.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

At the beginning of EP3, Stephen tells Jade that he has been with 3 female students. Read that again. He doesn't say that he had sex with the female students. But that is exactly what Jade thinks. Why so confusing now? In EP1, several words are put into the MC's mouth. Explicitly from Sage and Riona.
Sage asks the MC if he hates Chad, and when the MC denies it, Sage says, yes, you do. But at first there is no real reason for it. The guitar is still in his room. Later, when the MC is at the DIKs for the first time, Riona says that the MC made a pass at Sage. In my run-throughs, he did not, and he denies it. These two examples actually show that Sage and Riona want to put words in the MC's mouth. So it's a form of manipulation. And I think the same thing happened at the beginning of EP3 with Stephen and Jade. Stephen wants Jade to maybe just believe. Why actually? Customer protection (old rich men) and/or so he can maybe fuck a coed sometime. Justification. If he's really hooking up coeds with old rich men, his clients don't want that to become public. The jade thing is a little more complicated. Just a little bit. Jade is a feminist and wears the pants in this marriage. Stephen, for once, fails to get Jade under control. Now he sees a video of his wife fucking the MC. Of course, he smiles. Now he can establish the Heather/Tommy relationship model in his marriage.

So Stephen offers Mona tuition if she gets pregnant by one of those rich old guys. Mona doesn't take the offer and gets to leave at the end of EP6. Why did Stephen cut Mona's tuition? Quinn has done the groundwork in which Mona has shown that she is willing to prostitute herself, and Stephen has prepared a tuition that he logically cancels if she doesn't go along. But what does all this have to do with the MC now?

The "Limited Edition
What if the MC was the only one who could carry on his mother's family name and pedigree? It doesn't matter if Lynette is still alive. I suspected all along that maybe someone else was the MC's father. Geoff in particular was a hot candidate because he has similarities to the MC, minus the beard. I still assume that he is part of the MC's family. Maybe the uncle? But in EP8 Josy says something about gay unions and that's what they call a beard. Geoff helps the MC twice at the preps party. (Geoff is the guy with the red braid) The Jill blackmail of Tybalt is just a distraction story from DPC. Why. After Mona runs out of the Preps mansion, Stephen looks right at the MC. So considering that there was already an intense conversation in Stephen's office, it is actually impossible that Stephen did not recognize the MC. But why doesn't Stephen Burke do anything about the damage at the Preps mansion?
He has a wealthy and probably powerful client who happens to be a member of the MC's family. This family member wants Stephen to implement the above for the MC. But somehow that's exactly what comes out, and the scavenger hunt begins. Except that the scavenger is the MC (Limted Edition). Young, sexy, athletic, intelligent, and heir to, in Neil's words, an indecent fortune. But the math doesn't quite add up. Why? Neil and the MC have been living like hermits. When the MC comes to B&R, he's actually like Mowgli in the jungle. Surrounded by wolves, big cats and a bear. My worst thought is actually what will happen when actual his closest friends know all this and want to take advantage of him.

Wow. You can tell I'm on vacation.:ROFLMAO:
This theory is amazing if it turns out to be true it will call a lot of things into question.

Good choice, pal. I've listened that compilation a couple times. EP6 Bella one rocks; and if I be objective here, EP6 helping Quinn is among the top ones. I also love the one for Nora scene (Bridget Barkan - your love is too good).

Josy has several: in EP4 triple scenetwo In EP7, my favourite one for Josy is the latter.
still waiting for the two for Maya in dorm party.

and my defining one for Bella  (Emily Ventre - all of the pieces):
Those are also so damn good. Didn't want to flood the post but they are also on my playlist ;)

1 of the 2 Maya's at the dormparty is just uploaded this morning. But the other one is imho better. Seeing how he's uploading atm i think it will be following today.

Yeah, same, I was facepalming away to indicate I agreed with someone that something was bad. Didn't realise I was contributing to their psychological baggage!

Of all Bella's killer stares you chose that one? It's almost like she's giggling. :giggle:

Three of my first 5 facepalms ever were from you! That's why I've always hated you... :p

And two of them were about KRJ :ROFLMAO:
I regret nothing...

These had an educational purpose :asd:

The thing that kind of pisses me off though (justified or not) is the reintroduction of Zoey AFTER making the choice. "Hey pick your waifu, then I'm gonna throw your ex-girlfriend back in the mix!" Really?
What we know about Zoey at the moment is that she is back in the town where she and the MC lived.

Everything else, it's us who speculate.

If we're right and she fits into his romantic life, I hope it will be gradual. That you do not have to put back from epiosde 9 the choice made in episode 8.

Do you maintain an accounting of the facepalms you received a year ago? o_O
I´m totally OK with people telling me that I´m not right about something I have said, and then reasoning why. Usually, I respond and a debate starts. But... a facepalm? What´s even that? What is the message? to shut up? that you are saying something absurd of stupid? It´s not "I disagree with you", it´s something more insulting. When I see a facepalm in a comment in which I have expressed an opinion or idea in a polite, reasoned way, I just go the the guy´s profile and click the button of "ignore", and move on. I have little tolerance for lack of education, and even less for stupidity.

Nah, you just have to click on your name at the top right, then click on your "reaction score count" number. Scroll over to the right and you can click on facepalms and then see all the lovely people that thought you were a dumbass. :ROFLMAO:

But yeah, the "" icon can often mean, "I don't really agree, but I'm not gonna be a cunt about it".

But the facepalm often means, "I don't agree, I think you're a dickhead, and by the way, I'm a cunt!"

But it's a shame, cause it could have been used for humor too. Like, "Oh man, that was a groan worthy joke!", but yeah, it's typically interpreted as an insult. I'm sure lots of newbies don't mean it to be, like felice mentioned earlier.

Regarding ignoring people, I can't do that. I'd rather debate with them than cut them off, but if it starts going around in circles... "" always comes in handy.

Just looked at the ending of episode 8 again (since we're discussing the epilogues from the various chapters) and this hit me:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I played Acting lessons and I cried in that game from the mid untill the end (really cried). DPC "fucked my life" with that game. It was Covid lockdown, I couldn't go outside or do anything. So I was on steam looking for games to play, I found acting lessons, bought it. I was already sad from covid and that guy made me rethink my whole life with that game. I only wanted to have fun and live a quiet nice life with the girl who saved my life. Skipped all girls on the way, and all shit happened lol. After that I didnt even try another gameplay. In the start of Being a dik, he puts Jill to say all those things that makes me think he is gonna twist it all again. So you better have fun while you can :D
Played Acting Lessons once, before I played any of Being a DIK. Acting Lessons was powerfully written for all that. Even MCs best friend was special and you felt bad for him.

All these talks about paths / DIK / CHICK.

That kind of variety is one of many reasons that makes this game great.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

This is a very important decision - maybe THE most important decision in the game:

View attachment 1545504

Trust me. You'll need to be nice to this douchebag with the 50s-style hair (50s in what country, IDK) if you want any hope of getting your old job back when DPC fucks up the MC's life at the end of the story as a result of all the wrong decisions you made along the way.
Oh OFT. I agree with you about the choice of Steve Major. I have some theories and speculation about it, but nothing concrete. This decision is obviously so trivial and insignificant as portrayed by DPC that probably exactly what Isabella once told the MC in EP2 applies. Reverse Pschyology.

DPC himself has written in such a way that seemingly unimportant decisions have no impact at first, but become important later. As you correctly note, Steven has a haircut of 50. Quinn refers to Josy's dance in EP5 as a 70s dance. Neil and Lynette's story takes place in the late 90s, and the calendar on Maya's closet shows us 2017 and 2020, which are the 10s and 20s of the 21st century.

1950: Grandfather or grandmother
1970: father or mother
1990: Josy, Maya, Sage, Jill, Tommy, Rusty, MC, etc.
2017-2020: presence of Josy and MC working in the store.

Now the only question is why Steve is filling up the applesauce in aisle 9.

The question I ask myself is how long has the tradition of cum petition been around? I assume this tradition predates the existence of the DIKs. That could then explain the applesauce over decades.
Steve, the little freak, knows quite a bit about B&R. Did he maybe go to this college once? We don't know his age, so it's possible. Maybe he once had to prove himself on a cum-petition? Possible. But now we know that this is probably the first time the HOT's have done such a cum petition of EP2. Accordingly, Steve's will have had a Pink Rose Girl on his lap during his cum petition. Who's got a kid again?

This has everything to do with apples. But more on that in another post, because otherwise I'd go beyond the scope.

I accidentally patched my 0.7.2 game to 0.8.2. Of course the game won't work. Does anyone have a download link somewhere to the 0.7.2 version? So I can patch it first to the 0.8, instead of losing my saves.

Him ghosting F95 is definitely counter intuitive.

If he was posting here from time-to-time, people would see him as more of a human and this would surely lead to more subscriptions.

I don't know if there is any history behind his severance from this site (some people say he was sick of people dissing AL for its twist, but I don't know about that).
But from what I’ve heard from older forum members like Holy Bacchus, he really was tired by the shit people were giving him about the twist and left. Which is weird, because there are his posts on this thread (the one where he says he needs the money is the most recent one, I think).

So technically he left after AL, but came back to promote his new game later? Then apparently he leaves again and bans everyone mentioning this place.
DPC deleted his original account in Aug 2018, after being constantly harassed about how episode 0.5 ended (long before AL ended).
or maybe he deleted his account cos he doesn't want to be dealing with BS once ep 5 was released he got a lot of hate about the ending and some people even PMed him some Bullshit stuff like
"tell me everything now whats gonna happen in the next eps or i won't pledge blah" ps. this is one of the nice ones.
a lot of the bad posts were deleted...
Then created a new account in Nov 2018, after the heat about episode 0.6 had died down a bit and he'd started the switch to BaDIK. But the harassment followed him into BaDIK, extending as far as death threats:
Being sought out and threatened to life over how I choose to write my stories and openly insulted and accused of being mentally insane over a game, that's the real toxic behavior.
So of course he racked off to other channels where he doesn't have to suffer that sort of bullshit & nukes the account of anyone that pisses him off. He last posted here Jun 2019.

Doesn't seem counter intuitive to me, I wouldn't put up with that either.
Question. Is there a way to unzip a new copy of BAD clean of saves without I have to delete my old saves. I already have a copy with all the saves I played so far and that I want to keep to when season 2 starts. But I want to play another clean copy of the game with no saves appearing on it.
Not easily.

On Windows Ren'Py stores saves in two places, the game\saves folder and %appdata%\RenPy\BeingaDIK-1535311494

You need to remove your saves and persistent file from both places to get a fresh start.
There is new information, but we need to clarify something ... Do we know why Lana died?
No

One option would be to install the (all three), which should over-ride the official 0.8.2 patch so your patched game will work again.

The "the rain lewd scene" is one of the best for the single reason, the song. That's of course imo
Well, the scene fits the song and the song fits the scene, that's what makes it perfect.

This one is really good too, it sets the mood perfectly

But there are a lot of songs I like, 11/10 soundtrack.

DrPinkcake must have spent hundreds of hours listening to music, it's really hard to find good tracks in those stock music sites, I once had to do it for my job and most of it is boring uninspired elevator music crap, finding the hidden gems requires a lot of effort and good taste.

They are pricey, too. ~200-300 dollars per song if I remember correctly. DPC can afford it but it's too much for the average developer.

If you are a profesional writer (and DPC is, since he sells a product), and are going to play the George R. R. Martin game, making people get fond of your characters, and then killing them out of the blue, you must have the guts to endure the rage that has created yourself among your own fans. What was he expecting? That people was going to thank him for killing their Lis? :ROFLMAO:
