anybody ever think about what happens if this update isnt like the best thing DPC has ever made? like what if there is some really lame unavoidable plot twist just for dramatic overload? what if the branching paths are just a very poor illusion that all lead to the exact same scene (again)? what if we immediately have MC second guessing the choice we were just forced to make last episode? what if we learn something about Isabella or MC's mom and its REALLY stupid/contrived/convoluted?

DPC himself hyped this up to the extremes, and the ridiculous wait time to play it since Crossroads has driven most people here to ludicrous hype levels. i am of the mindset that 1 update per calendar year is gonna be the norm (yeah even with his 10% speed increase or whatever), and for that model to be "acceptable" to most people this singular episode needs to be like his literal best work to date to validate the lengthy wait time and the Interlude itself.

i wont lie, im not nearly as hyped as some of you. a lot of shit has happened IRL in the world since Crossroads, and the super long wait time has also taken its toll on me. its hard to be as invested as before when there is nothing to talk about for like a year when compared to the previous release schedule. so while i am still looking forward to it being available soon, i also feel like this is kinda a "do or die" moment for the story he is trying to tell us (which will take several more years to finish at this point in time).

anybody else ever think about what happens if the consensus on this update after the dust settles is anything less than "best DPC product to date"? i kinda feel like this cant even afford to just be mediocre or "good enough", it needs to have everybody love it 120% or it will still be considered a failure in the eyes of the general audience because of the massive time investment this story requires IRL. just curious what your thoughts are (if you have any lol)
I think DPC have passed a critical mass of supporters from general vanilla appeal that no matter what he does he will still have enough loyalists that will stay no matter what so this game wont go into obscurity anytime soon. It would take A LOT to trash it. I only see it going to hell if he abandons it at this point. I mean, the Vixens is such a clear "meet n fuck" addition for manwhore players and he could be adding a couple "sluts" to the bang roster with every update and a sizeable enough playerbase would be content and happy with that alone.

Realistically, people clamoring for story is not the main audience, people are paying for the porn. The storyline just have to be passable. Why else are people so fine with madame  everywhere else but here in this thread, where we hate the ghoul? Shes a typical commercial plastic tit pornstar/prostitute past their prime, the only trait thats missing is that she aint a fake blonde. That shit actually still sells!

Anyhow, in my opinion there is too much inertia and built up goodwill that he could coast for years without too much fallout even if he was phoning it in. At worst (not counting abandonment) the title would become one of many titles remembered of as wasted potential, an ode to hubris, instead of a fondly remembered experience. Sad and common.

Its also possible that your attention and interest have begun to wane after years and years of invested interest? Happens with all entertainment and many hobbies. Almost there with Marvel stuff, i can hardly stomach watching any of the movies, only Winter Soldier could hold my attention without skipping it. It sucks no longer liking what you used to like. Another example: Ive not touched DotA for 4-5 years now. Had been playing it since WC3 days (v5.84 baby). One day i just stopped caring and never looked back.

Went to check out my Steam saves (modded) since the next episode is near, and well, DPC has already bricked some scenes lmao. What a guy.
as far as i know the steam saves doesnt work with the patreon version (modded is a special case too, most of the time modded saves will be broken with a new version of the game, cause DPC hates mods and changed the game everytime in a way those modded savegames were broken.... until the modder fixed the issues), and for steam season 3 will be published if its complete, so in about 2 years from now.

correct me if iam wrong about it.

There are 2 versions: 1st scene if you follow the DIK alignment, 2nd scene if you are neutral or CHICK.

Anyway, check the first post: hidden under extras you'll find official walkthroughs - they have a "how to unlock the lewd scenes" section.
Thank you, probably my massive Chick status was the mistake. I'll try it.

Pretty sure you can start season 3 Patreon with Steam transfer save from season 1-2, but I’m working from memory, which has never been my strongest stat.

They do work with the Patreon version now. I was just going to replay some scenes, but the saves for some of these scenes were causing the scripting error screen. I do have a S2 + Interlude save ready, but I wonder if they will work eventually into S3 or if I'll have to start a new game.

I am thinking none. Wow, these faces. I was expecting a little more quality after all this time. Regardless, hopefully everyone gets what they are looking for from episode 9...or is it 10. I can't really remember anymore it has been so long.

How does that solve anything? Do you really think that her dad will just go "Aw shucks, you got me. Here's all the money."?
My solution would be to have MC ring up her father and say "HEY! You're going to be a grandfather!", after you've solved the tuition situation so he has no direct influence at all.
I got as far as I could in BAD a while back so I decided to check out Acting Lessons. I finally finished it last night. All I have to say is "I swear to God, DPC. If anything happens to Bella, I'm gonna lose my shit! Don't fucking do that to me!"
Ok. Rant over.
Fair rant. Acting Lessons is the only game I've played that caused me personal trauma. It took me a while to be able to play it a 2nd time, it was a real nut punch on several fronts (but my boy Liam was with me all the way!). I will never forgive DPC for not letting me save Melissa without fucking her first.
No more Status Updates?
The last one said "Final status update", so.. yes, that's correct.

He's an insanely controlling person who will most likely be furious that Maya tried to defy him. The last thing he's going to want to do is help her out. Instead, he'll be looking for ways to isolate her and gain more control over her. Calling him up would be the fastest way to get him to try to pull her out of there. He'd probably see it as the evil liberals running the college are trying to turn his innocent daughter gay.

Honestly dude, this is like saying that a landmine can be easily removed by stomping on it real hard.
Maya is of age, her father cannot take her away from anything except kidnapping.

Once the loan issue is resolved he has no leverage to use.

Then of course a reconciliation would be the best solution
Maya's loan is for her tuition. If the dad is withholding (or at least he's threatening to do so) it sounds kinda illegal, almost like straight up theft. Now Maya's already attending classes, so she's probably already paid for the first semester, so nothing illegal has happened yet.

Once she explains the bullshit her dad is threatening to do to her, if the college contacted Patrick, of course he wouldn't admit that he's a cunt, he'd make it sound like there was some kind of misunderstanding, and that Maya got confused, and of course the money was for her tuition, blah blah.

Patrick hasn't got a leg to stand on in this situation, either he's bluffing, in which case his bluff will be called the second someone of authority questions him, or he's actually done all the things Maya believes he's done, in which case he could possibly be done for fraud since he would have had to lie on any application that could make Maya a co-signer.

I'm still mostly convinced it's a bluff. He's just trying to scare Maya into doing what he wants.

Although what he's doing to Maya is obviously causing her a lot of grief, he's probably not an "evil" guy; just misguided and over protective. A lot of parents make ridiculous threats to try to control adult children (or even just young children). A friend of mine's parents threatened to disown her if she married this guy that they didn't approve of. She married him anyway, the marriage failed after 3 years, the parents were right, but they never disowned her.

I doubt Patrick actually intends to destroy her credit rating and have her in debt for life. Why the fuck would he do that to his daughter? He just wants her to be not gay. The whole loan fiasco will eventually fizzle out, because it is a nonsense ploy from a father who is slowly losing control of his adult daughter. Eventually he'll have to stop meddling in her life or else he'll run the risk of not being in it at all.

If it escalates to more than that, like making Patrick out to be some hard line zealot who would rather stone his daughter than let her go muff diving, I will be really fucking surprised. It won't be resolved as well as Josy and her dad, because they already had a good relationship, but I reckon it will end with Patrick realising he can't control her if he wants to still be in her life.

Hello everyone, If I'm not wrong, DPC mentioned in the previous status update that he performed playtest on various branches for episode 9. Therefore, we should expect beta testing to be completed in a shorter period and hope to have the update as soon as possible.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but decent dev with an ounce of smarts would do internal playtesting (alpha-testing in tech-speak) before sending their work out for beta-testing. And DPC always does that. So don't expect beta period to be any shorter than usual.
