He has more and better hardware running these days, so I think the 9 week estimate is too high. But someone can run the math on all that and tell us the likeliest timeline, at this point.
I was going by confirmed rendered animations per week since his upgrade (he does give figures occasionally) and it's never been more than 8. His hardware upgrade is also negated by his switch to 60fps animations meaning each animation has double the frames of previous animations to render. always86 did post the figures and came to the conclusion that animations will be finished end of November, meaning beta testing takes us into December, or animations will be completed early December with beta testing taking us to mid December. as I suggested.

I beat Chad and Caleb and still got that same line, Tremolo says there's no way to match his strenght and that he would have to be technical
I don't remember that line. But oh well. Doesn't matter. Trem can easily kick Caleb's ass. He's overthinking shit like usual.

EpisodeRelease! :HideThePain:

  • Today is the release time of Episode 9.
  • Let's compare with the previous checkup 2 weeks before:
  • Renders: 5539 > 5725 produced.
    • +186. With the little amount remaining that one was crossed already.
  • Animations: 257 > 269 produced. 68 Left.
    • +12 completed at 6.0/Week, previous metric was 6.7/Week.
    • Based on actual EP10 high/avg 10 weeks of rendering left. That would put into Early December.
    • If by some miracle, the extra upgrade and idle boost to 9.0/Weeks (vs 6.7) it's still 8 weeks of waiting.
  • Same plague as EP9 for DevTime, Animation again disturb the end schedule and the 60 FPS not helping.
Considering the massive horse power of the new rings it's seems like an underwhelming result. DPC seems happy.
When release, the ratio of the total seconds of animation per weeks (sA/W) will put a definitive respond to that.
We all looking for it and typing these reports been getting depressing, personal optimism all time low. :HideThePain:
EP10 getting closer to get a 365 days of Development Time.
  • Release could be Early November December (11 months / 51 weeks projection). 81% complete.

I saw this just yet, awesome btw... but... hmmmm

iam not that sure about the numbers here. Cause there is something that bothers me. Do we really KNOW that DPC was posing animations alle the time?

Especially for epsiode 10 iam pretty sure that he didnt pose that much animations that the render salves were working all the time on those.

My mind can be tricky here, but as i remember he already did nearly 100 animations late MARCH. and in june or something liek that those numbers didnt increase much.

Can totally be wrong here, iam not able to look back at those dev reports. But something tells me, he didnt posed those animations constantly. And is only rushing them as of late cause they are pretty much the only thing left to do.

Iam not so sure how fast he is really able to get animations out per week... well... we will see, he said himself now the art is DONE. and 68 animations are left to render, which means, he will not add fresh animations to the queue (if he doesnt change his mind which he does pretty much all the time)... this will show us the REAL animation render speed now... and with that we can see if DPC made a "render pause" in between, which iam pretty sure of.

But dont understand me wrong, if he paused the animation rendig, i dont think he does that to "milk" anything, i just would say he had to do other things at the time for the game.
My tables only track completed renders. There were several months where DPC didn’t give completed numbers and only posed numbers. I created an average between the reported figures. To my memory he has never not had animations in the render queue. He even started rendering animations before episode 9 released, because he was waiting for testing to be completed. Week 1 of my table is always the first Friday after a release.

That all said there are potentially two advantages going forward. 1 he no longer has a system doing stills and instead has 3 machines doing animations. 2. He has upgraded a third machine.

This could allow him to speed up by about 33%. The animations could all be short and therefor relatively quick. If it’s 68 3 second loops it’s…

68 animations times 60 frames a second times 3 seconds

60x68x3=12240 animation frames to render. It’s unlikely they’ll all be short, so let’s say an average of 6 seconds. 60x68x6=24480. That’s a pretty wide margin, but that is where the average comes into play.

He really has become the G R R Martin of VNs. Every episode becomes larger and larger and ever more complicated and takes longer and longer...we'll see if he also dies before he finishes his "epos", just like Martin surely will.

BUT he did finish his epos
. Novels' fans haven't realised yet that the tv show has replaced the novels. Everybody should be reminded that he has supervised, partially written and produced every tv series related to A Song of Ice and Fire.

On the contrary, we have yet to see a tv series based on BaDIK. :sneaky:

Its even bigger! I have patience for this developers because, his graphic, script and animation are of the hooked! I played his first game and it was really touching. So with BID he will definitely nailed it! Trust in the process my dear MC

On the contrary, we have yet to see a tv series based on BaDIK. :sneaky:
the closest thing you're going to get to a TV series based on Being A DIK is American pie presents beta house. DPC literally get a lot of ideas from that movie.

About the remaining animations duration, my guess would be an average of less than 4s each.

My reasons for that are that all those animations left are from lewd scenes, which always were mostly short (75% of ep9 animations had less than 4s)

Also, DPC said that some animations from the queue would be merged to a single one, which means those should be even smaller.

So, that still leaves us with 16320 frames to render. If we use his render speed from his vacation (4330 renders in 2 weeks) that would mean it would take 52 days to render all those frames.

However, that was before his hardware update. From what I looked online, in DAZ3d a 4090 is roughly 70 to 80% percent faster than a 3090.

If that is the case, the remaining time goes to 30 days, a much better result that would place the update in mid november.

I sure hope I'm right this time...

He really has become the G R R Martin of VNs. Every episode becomes larger and larger and ever more complicated and takes longer and longer...we'll see if he also dies before he finishes his "epos", just like Martin surely will.
Well, at least DPC isnt old yet.

There still hope for november.

That one really hurt and we all know the reason.

Fucking 60fps animations.

Thanks for the data!

Lets hope the animations/week increase a lot. I think now that the static are done we could see some increase.

Also, the remaining animations shouldnt be as big.

Lets hope DPC give us the remaining animations in all future reports, it would be good data for our predictions.

81% complete.

the closest thing you're going to get to a TV series based on Being A DIK is American pie presents beta house. DPC literally get a lot of ideas from that movie.

and finally for extra points the walk of shame by Sorority Boys:
I thought the cumpetition reminded me of something. I forgot about that movie

I thought I was the only one that started gravitating more towards the Others characters. When did this thread start getting chill?
Think I got saves for all the girls plus the others route.

Think my first play-through I went the Bella route, but not knowing anything, I was doing all the girls until the time you had to choose and the look on Jill's face when she sees the MC through the window kissing Bella killed me, I felt so bad, that every other route after that I decided to just stick to the choice I wanted to carry on with and not take any other relationships too far, just felt too heart wrenching having to break up certain relationships.
