They are apparently placeholder names for characters' whose surnames players aren't supposed to know yet. Miller is given as a prompt for MC's last name so we should treat that as the official one.

Though, the second one is from Acting Lessons and it might be the character's real last name. It's been a long time since I played it, so I don't remember.
He does apparently like self-inserts a lot when it comes to these games, because he considers Rena to be the canonical partner of the MC in Acting Lessons as he's given her the last name 'Redfield' which is also the MC's default surname in that game.

I dont think he'll do that, though we'll find out soon as I expect he'll announce something like that at the beggining of the next dev cycle. What I could see him doing is saying instead that he is going to do 20 chapters but from now on they'll be a bit smaller. (which might amount to the same thing).
If he does that i'd expect him to go back to a 6-8 month cycle. So August-October 2025 then February-June 2026. I know there was a big argument about milking last week but the simple fact is Pink releases more content than 99% of other creators. With the exception of one or two of the studios who have lower art quality, worse stories and writing and almost no one is doing 7000 renders in 14 months and abosultely no one is doing 392 animations.

Tommy and Josy would most likely NOT have the same last name. Their parents were only recently married, and they are step siblings. Unless Josy's father officially adopted Tommy, not likely in a college-aged man, he would have kept his original last name. Don't forget, Josy's parents were only divorced right before Josy and Maya hooked up, maybe a year before the game or only a couple of months (depending on if the summer interlude was a year before, or the same summer as the game starts).
Do we ever know for sure how long Maya and Josy's official relationship was? Is it a year or just a few months?
... or even his Mother's if his parents were not married.
And Riona probably isn't an immigrant, and could well have been either adopted, or be mixed race?

Well...
- Nothing in the game indicates that she is or isn't an immigrant. Regardless, people (ok fine, with very few weird exceptions) don't change their surname just because they are immigrants. So it is for all intents and purposes irrelevant whether Riona is an immigrant or not.
- Nothing in the game says she's adopted. That being the reason for a non-East Asian surname is rather grasping at straws.
- Even if she's mixed race, she's mixed East Asian race. Believe it or not, a mixed race person of East Asian x Western has a somewhat specific look that's miles away from how Riona looks.
