I meant that if Bella is married then she has a husband, right? In the case of James coming back, you suggested a divorce and made it seem simple when there is no evidence to support that statement either. Will James accept an amicable divorce? Is Bella sure that divorce is a better option than trying to save her marriage? These are possibilities that MC didn't think of and that Neil might notice.
A husband she has not seen in three years, which is bound to be mentioned. A husband she has reason to suspect is dead. From Neil's perspective James should be the same as any other ex. Something to worry about, but ultimately the worries are of the emotional aspect. So is she following her heart?
We can consider the story on a meta level and James is obviously going to turn up one way or another, but from the character's perspective he has been away for a long time and they have no reason to think he's about to return.
That discussion in EP.8 about elephants was ridiculous. The most important questions weren't asked, and the ones that were asked only served to show that Bella really didn't think anything through.
An example of this was when MC asked what the B&R handbook said about relationships between teachers and students and Bella said she didn't know. MC himself asked why she didn't look into this topic since the two were getting more and more involved as the days went by. Do I need to say more?
Quite frankly you do. Their emotional connection matters more and that was what they focused on.
What more important questions were not asked? Don't be vague.
Bella should have told Jill the truth (about her and MC being romantically involved with each other) before inviting MC to her house for dinner. Once again it shows that Bella hasn't thought about anything, much less the future. Bella has a bad habit of putting off things that need to be addressed as soon as possible, do you disagree with that too?
When was she supposed to tell Jill? Until that moment Bella was still second guessing the whole relationship. As soon as possible was the next day after breakfast. When Jill already caught them. That's the point of that moment. They finally make the decision and the one person who has the most right to hear it from them catches them in the act before they get the chance to tell her.
I can't agree with that statement." In EP.10, MC asked Bella about their relationship since she's married, and she simply said she didn't know and couldn't answer. Does this sound like a response coming from a woman who is thinking about tomorrow? Be honest... At this point, Bella is literally driving with the MC on a road she doesn't know where it leads to. Too stubborn to ask for directions or stop at the nearest gas station, she keeps driving, hoping something will happen (and it will happen when James comes back).
It's the answer of a woman who hasn't found an answer to a difficult question. It's obvious she has agonized over it. That is thinking of tomorrow. Don't mistake lack of results for lack of effort.
