i dont agree with this, i respect your opinión but for me this is something dpc do better than other devs and thats making the player feel like they control the story, hell in last update
He said some changes will be done to some Ingame apps but as far as I can remember they were not big changes. And I think he must have planned something before he announced that he is going break game into seasons if not then he would have notified. So I think saves will be compatible.
I am sure saves will be compatible for the next release.

I just played it without since EP1 but after I finished kind of everything, even all Scenes, I was like, lets find out what happens if you use some mods. There is not much difference though except that you make a few scenes per playtrough otherwise its about dik or chick or in many cases neutral.my saves didn't work in ep3 (all of them) i was using a mod from scrappy in 0.2 and when 0.3 droped i tried loading a save and it crashed. So i played the game from the beginning LOL
all i had to do is just put that old mod in the new update and it would work but nooooooooo, i had to do the hard way
since i don't have 0.3.1 but just 0.3 with a mod a wonder what will happen when 0.4 drops
