100% agree with you (except Quinn part, she would fit right in with the peacocks feminist trash Derek made fun of). I stopped playing the MC as I would behave in RL, and more based on which girls I wanted him to bang eventually...which sucks as it takes a lot of fun from the game.

As for all the praise, I say Dr Pink has earned tons of praise, but mostly cause we know he can write good characters, and can complete a game he is passionate about. But I disagree that this is the best 0.1 version ever... Milfy City still holds that title quite easily, and if we go by story only and not graphics, Ecchi Sensei beats it as well.

If Acting Lessn had ended at 0.4 I would trust this dev completely and would be pledging immediately, however it didn't, and the final product had some edges that kept it at a 7.5/10 for me at best... I won't rate this game till its further in, as it can go south very quick and in fact already has a disclaimer warning in writing and in that funny intro with Jill.

Shallow, instant gratification, and useful for a quick tug. No doubt. However, that is not how this one works obviously since there is a way for the game to track choices and the personality of the MC. Every character in this game has at least a skeletal personality and most have developed likes and dislikes even at this point in the game, which in my mind is crazy since it's only a .1.

Thus, it makes complete sense to me that some people are going to be attracted to certain actions and disapprove of others. So, wanting Quinn to like you in game for example you have to be a dick, because she likes aggressive personality types and even states she likes the anger the MC shows in one scene. It doesn't make sense then for her to like the feminist, white knight MC that wants to respect all women, now does it? I get everyone wants to play the MC like themselves, because most name the MC after themselves and project themselves into the game. That's fine. However, to then be disappointed when your MC cannot get with love interest A in a game that creates believable and attractive characters, because love interest A is not into the way you played your MC is contradictory. The best option is to do 2 or 3 runs as different personality types.

P.S. Perhaps Milfy City is the best initial release in your opinion. However, it isn't even in my top 5 for initial releases.

Not a full fledged romance option. It doesn't have a progress bar at the end for her. Whether that changes going forward, I don't know, but would guess it's possible since in Acting Lessons new girls were valid options when introduced later in game. Regardless, I used her as an example, because your interactions with her already alter the way she talks to you depending on your choices in this release and she's at best a secondary character right now.

We don't know how things are going to go or if things will go to shit yet we have 28 reviews all hailing it as the best game ever created.

I can't take those reviews seriously.

Maybe in about 8 more updates when it's quality has remained steady and no, previous works do not count or Fallout 76 would be one of the best open world games ever developed and we know how shit that turned out.

Yeah, anyone giving 5 stars to a 0.1 .... I hear IGN are hiring.

I sort of agree, but the 5 stars can be a relative to other 0.1 games, i.e. how good the game is for its stage of development. At least that's how I do it and why I always mention what release version I review.

Look, people like what they like and I love H5 as much as you do but anything could go wrong.

I've never been a fan of early high scores, always felt like jumping the gun.

Imagine the worst happens and every update from now on is complete dogshit yet there are perfect 5 star reviews. Some poor sap comes along and sees the perfect score yet plays one of the worst games ever developed.

1 release is only proof they put some effort to draw people in, not proof of consistent quality.

Imagine if I gave H5 an instant 5 stars and in 5 updates she kills off Annie .... instant -5 stars.

The difference is that if Annie gets killed off it will be optional. This design philosophy is among the main reasons, why I have utmost trust in Heavy Five. I can't be upset for making a wrong choice, can I?

The problem isn't when you're forced to make decisions, the problem is when the decisions are boring. Binary morality systems lead to binary gameplay.

Take the first date with Josy. If you've gone full dick, you get rewarded with one animation. If you've gone full pussy, you get another. If you've tried to play the main character, say, as someone who is generally easy going but has a sense of humor and doesn't take shit -- a character, not a caricature -- you're in the twilight zone and you get nothing.

All the choices in ep1 follow this pattern. Every decision point is "are you DIK enough" or "are you CHICK enough", so the only meaningful routes through the game are the two extremes. Anything in between closes off options without opening others.

I am not saying every girl has to like the same personality in the MC, heck the side characters can be far to one side for all I care, especially Quinn who I find ugly as sin, so no loss for me there as she isn't a special prize I would demean myself playing the "cunt" route for her...

My problem with the alignment is when it contradicts crap within the same girl... Some people said they got all of Jill's scenes while on the "cunt" route, yet I also got all her scenes while on what others are calling the "pussy" route... So which is it for her ?

Same thing with Maya I didn't get 100% with her cause some of her scenes needed red points despite her reacting better to blue ones !

And again my problem is the alignment system, not the story. I don't project myself into the game, I am not that pathetic and lonely. I am GOD when I play these games and "steer" some lucky sap in the direction I want.
